Oversee and execute a comprehensive range of duties and obligations associated with the position, including but not limited to strategic planning, operational oversight, team coordination, and performance evaluation. Ensure adherence to organizational policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements while fostering a collaborative and productive work environment. Develop and implement initiatives to enhance efficiency, innovation, and employee engagement, and provide regular progress updates to senior leadership. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align projects with company objectives, identify and mitigate risks, and resolve complex challenges. Maintain accurate documentation, report key metrics, and contribute to the continuous improvement of processes, systems, and workflows.

Provide leadership and operational oversight to security and conservation personnel, maintain accurate records while safeguarding confidentiality, and facilitate seamless communication with JOCK, KWS, and NRT. Additionally, organize departmental meetings and training sessions, and track staff leave and off-day schedules to ensure strict adherence to organizational policies.

Procurement & Logistics: Responsible for processing requisitions, executing purchases, managing supply deliveries, overseeing vehicle maintenance, and verifying compliance with all necessary licenses.

Financial Management & Budgeting: Responsible for creating and overseeing budgets for General Security and Armed Security, managing funds, ensuring adherence to contractual obligations, and fostering collaboration with Finance, Monitoring & Evaluation, and Grants departments.

Grants & Fundraising: Prepare and assist in the development of grant proposals, engage in fundraising activities, and ensure adherence to donor requirements.

Compile, organize, and verify monitoring and evaluation data while ensuring consistency across submissions. Review departmental reports for accuracy and completeness, then produce detailed incident and operational reports to support data-driven decision-making.

Coordinate with governmental bodies, non-governmental organizations, and key stakeholders to uphold adherence to Kenyan legislative requirements and donor-specific guidelines. Additionally, serve as LEA’s representative in JOCK meetings, ensuring effective communication and alignment with organizational objectives.

Performs additional responsibilities as needed or assigned by management from time to time.

Job Specifications

The candidate must have the following qualifications:

A minimum of a diploma in Business Administration, Public Administration, Project Management, Finance, Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or a closely related field is required.

A bachelor’s degree is advantageous.

With a minimum of three to five years of experience in administrative and financial coordination, ideally within conservation or security sectors, you will oversee budget management, financial reporting, and procurement processes. Your role will involve coordinating schedules, managing documentation, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in financial software are essential to excel in this position.

In environments supported by non-governmental organizations or donor funding, candidates will operate within frameworks shaped by external financial contributions, ensuring alignment with donor mandates and organizational objectives while maintaining transparency and accountability in all activities.

Skilled in a range of Information Technology competencies, encompassing data management, reporting systems, MS Office applications, and security software solutions.

Demonstrated understanding of Kenyan wildlife conservation regulations and legal frameworks.

Demonstrates unwavering integrity, adheres to the highest ethical principles, and exercises sound, reasoned judgment in all professional decisions and actions.

Strong proficiency in organizational planning and decisive action.

Demonstrates strong self-motivation and the capacity to manage tasks efficiently without direct supervision.
