Mission Description
To ensure the timely and accurate transportation of shipments to their designated delivery points.
Drive articulated trucks and trailers along designated routes, ensuring the secure and timely transportation of goods while adhering to safety protocols.
Perform thorough pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to verify roadworthiness, documenting any identified defects without delay.
Ensure adherence to road traffic regulations, transport laws, and the organization’s safety protocols.
Ensure cargo is loaded, secured, and unloaded in compliance with established handling procedures while prioritizing safety at all times.
Oversee the meticulous documentation of deliveries, fuel consumption, mileage, and any incidents through logbook or electronic tracking systems to ensure precise record-keeping.
Ensure strict compliance with assigned schedules and routes, promptly reporting any delays or incidents encountered.
Maintain diligent oversight of the vehicle’s cleanliness, operational integrity, and scheduled inspections.
Work alongside fleet supervisors and mechanics to coordinate maintenance schedules and repair tasks.
Maintain a professional demeanor and deliver exceptional customer service in all interactions with clients, security personnel, and regulatory officials.
Implement defensive driving techniques to reduce potential hazards and uphold a strong commitment to safety across all operations.
Profile
A minimum of five years of hands-on experience operating articulated trucks and trailers is required.
Secures the essential educational foundation with a minimum of O’ level certification or its equivalent.
A valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with endorsements for Heavy Commercial Vehicles is required.
Maintains a pristine driving record, devoid of any significant traffic violations.
A valid Defensive Driving or PSV (Public Service Vehicle) certification is required for this position.
Proficiency in Occupational Health & Safety principles presents a notable advantage for this position.
Proficient in utilizing GPS tracking systems and developing optimized route plans.
Proficient understanding of road infrastructure, transport laws, and protocols for secure cargo management is required.
