Job Purpose

The Medical Officer will deliver exceptional clinical care to patients, collaborate in multidisciplinary patient care teams, facilitate educational initiatives, and uphold the hospital’s commitment to sustainable, outstanding holistic healthcare delivery.

Key accountabilities include managing project timelines and ensuring deliverables meet established quality standards. The role encompasses overseeing team collaboration to foster a productive work environment and identifying process improvements to enhance operational efficiency. Responsibilities also involve liaising with stakeholders to align project objectives with business goals and providing regular progress updates. Additionally, the position requires conducting performance evaluations and addressing any challenges to maintain project momentum.

Evaluate, identify, provide treatment for, and oversee the care of patients across diverse healthcare environments, including outpatient clinics, inpatient facilities, emergency departments, and specialized care units.

Design and execute tailored treatment strategies in strict adherence to established clinical protocols and evidence-based methodologies.

Execute medical procedures in accordance with established practice standards and professional competency levels.

Engage in ward rounds, conduct clinical audits, review mortality and morbidity cases, and contribute to quality improvement projects.

Ensure the precision and punctuality of patient records and clinical documentation at all times.

Effectively collaborate with consultants, nurses, allied health professionals, and other healthcare team members to optimize patient management.

Deliver health education and counseling services to patients as well as their family members.

Engage in emergency response operations, outreach initiatives, and community health programs as designated.

Provide guidance and mentorship to medical students, interns, and other healthcare trainees, fostering their professional development and clinical skills.

Facilitate advancements in research, innovation, and evidence-based clinical practice.

Demonstrate unwavering commitment to the professional, ethical, legal, and regulatory frameworks that define the standards of medical practice.

Seeking a candidate with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, along with a minimum of five years of hands-on experience in software development. Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or C++ is essential, along with expertise in system design and debugging. Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure and experience with Agile methodologies are highly desirable. The ideal applicant will demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills, and the capacity to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Holders of a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MB ChB) degree or an equivalent qualification from an accredited institution are eligible to apply.

Licensed and registered with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC).

Holds an active, valid professional license in good standing.

In addition to completing required internship training, candidates must demonstrate a commitment to ongoing professional development and adherence to industry standards. This foundational experience ensures familiarity with organizational protocols and prepares individuals for roles that demand both theoretical knowledge and practical application.

One year or more of post-internship clinical practice is highly beneficial.

Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is highly desirable.
