Our Client is in search of a meticulous and proactive Junior Accounts Assistant to join their Finance and Operations Department.

The ideal candidate will maintain precise financial records, facilitate inventory accounting procedures, aid in payroll management, perform reconciliations, and uphold seamless daily accounting operations.

Oversee a range of critical duties, including the development and execution of strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives while maintaining high standards of operational efficiency. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes, enhance productivity, and drive continuous improvement across departments. Lead project planning, resource allocation, and performance tracking to deliver measurable results and meet established benchmarks. Serve as a key liaison between leadership and staff, facilitating clear communication, resolving escalated issues, and fostering a culture of accountability and innovation. Monitor industry trends and competitive landscapes to identify opportunities for growth, risk mitigation, and strategic advantage. Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and best practices in all operational activities.

Maintain precise, up-to-date accounting records and ensure the accuracy of all financial transactions on a daily basis.

Process and maintain accurate records for accounts payable and receivable transactions, ensuring timely and precise documentation of all financial activities.

Compile and input journal entries into the accounting system accurately and in a timely manner.

Responsible for the ongoing maintenance and updating of general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.

Support the compilation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

Prepare management accounts and financial statements, providing essential support throughout the process.

Ensure accurate organization and maintenance of financial documentation in compliance with established procedures.

Prepare statutory returns and tax documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements.

Ensure adherence to KRA mandates as well as other applicable regulatory standards.

Ensure precise documentation is maintained to fulfill audit and compliance obligations effectively.

Execute bank reconciliations as well as vendor statement reconciliations to ensure accuracy and alignment between financial records.

Conduct thorough examinations to identify and reconcile variances within financial documentation.

Support the establishment and enforcement of internal financial controls and procedures.

Facilitate payroll operations by managing salary calculations, processing deductions, and administering employee benefits.

Maintain payroll records with precision and strict confidentiality.

Track inventory transactions and oversee stock movements diligently to ensure accuracy and efficiency in supply chain operations.

Perform a comprehensive comparison between physical inventory counts and the corresponding system records to ensure accuracy and alignment.

Conduct inventory audits and analyze discrepancies to identify root causes of variances.

Provide support in determining the Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) through accurate calculations and analysis.

Collaborate effectively with logistics and operations teams to ensure precise inventory management.

Seeking a candidate with a minimum of five years of experience in a comparable role, along with a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field. The ideal applicant will possess strong analytical skills, proficiency in data management software, and the ability to communicate complex information clearly. Responsibilities include conducting market research, developing strategic recommendations, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive business growth. Candidates must demonstrate a proven track record in problem-solving and project management, with a commitment to continuous learning and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.

A degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related business discipline is required.

Candidates should possess a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) credential, with a preference for those who have completed CPA Part II or higher.

Seeking candidates with at least two years of hands-on experience in accounting, bookkeeping, inventory management, or finance-related positions.

Proficiency in a retail, wholesale, distribution, e-commerce, or inventory-focused business setting is particularly advantageous.

Demonstrated expertise in accounting software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, including QuickBooks, Odoo, Zoho Books, Sage, or comparable platforms, is required.

Proficient in Microsoft Excel with expertise in Pivot Tables, Lookups, and advanced data analysis functions.

Proficient in utilizing retail point-of-sale systems and inventory management software.

Demonstrates a solid grasp of inventory accounting principles and stock control methodologies.
