Oxford University Press East Africa is currently seeking an Assistant Education Business Advisor to join their team in Nairobi on an eight-month fixed-term contract. The position will center on expanding sales, fostering relationships with educational institutions, overseeing distributor operations, and assisting with collections and CRM reporting. Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree or higher diploma in Education, Sales, or Marketing, along with three to five years of relevant experience in educational sales. Fluency in both English and Kiswahili is essential, as is the capability to operate autonomously while collaborating with diverse stakeholders.

Oversee a range of critical responsibilities, including managing daily operations, coordinating team activities, and ensuring adherence to company policies and industry standards. Lead initiatives to enhance efficiency, productivity, and employee engagement while maintaining a focus on achieving organizational goals. Collaborate with department heads to align objectives, allocate resources effectively, and drive continuous improvement. Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and professional development to support both individual and team success. Monitor performance metrics, address challenges proactively, and implement solutions to optimize workflows and deliver measurable results.

Achieve specified sales goals by implementing a targeted territory management strategy.

Daily school visits are conducted to maintain precise documentation of activities.

Develop and pursue innovative prospects to secure new business ventures.

Oversee bookshops and distributors to enhance product availability and visibility.

Provide assistance to collections efforts, track overdue balances, and prepare and submit sales reports punctually.

Ideal profile

Proven ability to communicate effectively, build strong relationships, negotiate skillfully, and maintain exceptional organizational capabilities.

Exceptional proficiency in digital tools, technology, data management, and analytical methodologies is essential.

Maintaining professionalism, adhering to ethical principles, and upholding brand integrity are essential responsibilities.

An additional advantage would be prior teaching experience.
