An opening has emerged within our Kenya Crop Protection Commercial Function for a technically adept and commercially astute professional to assume a pivotal position, driving strategic key account management across our Large Scale customer segment and fostering sustainable business growth. This role offers the chance to:

Foster and oversee Tangent’s most critical customer relationships to drive sustained value and cultivate strategic partnerships.

To maintain strong relationships with current clients while actively exploring and cultivating new business prospects within the large-scale customer segment.

Design, implement, and oversee sales initiatives aligned with the Commercial Organization’s strategic goals and predefined commercial targets to drive optimal business performance.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

To successfully meet and exceed commercial objectives, the individual will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic initiatives that drive revenue growth and enhance market share. This role requires a strong ability to analyze market trends, identify opportunities, and execute targeted sales and marketing strategies to capitalize on them. Additionally, the candidate must possess excellent negotiation skills, a deep understanding of customer needs, and the capability to build and maintain high-value client relationships. Performance will be measured against key performance indicators such as sales targets, customer acquisition rates, and profit margins, ensuring sustained business expansion.

To ensure the attainment of mutually agreed and formally documented sales targets within the designated territory.

Formulate and implement tailored business strategies for individual customers, establishing specific targets for volume, value, and margin.

Negotiate mutually beneficial commercial terms, pricing structures, and promotional investments to enhance overall value creation for all parties involved.

Oversee credit exposure and payment terms in accordance with established company guidelines to ensure compliance and mitigate risk.

Oversee distributor accounts diligently to achieve the annual closure of Bad & Doubtful Debt Provision (BDDP) with a zero balance.

Accurately forecast demand and oversee inventory planning in collaboration with key accounts.

The position involves overseeing and nurturing relationships with key accounts, ensuring client satisfaction, and driving revenue growth through strategic account planning and execution. Develop and oversee comprehensive market strategies from inception to completion, encompassing marketing campaigns, sales enablement, and technical support while fostering collaboration with supply chain and customer operations teams.

Proactively identify, evaluate, and leverage market trends while managing business risks and opportunities within key accounts by systematically analyzing market dynamics, the competitive landscape, and customer financial health.

Formulate strategic measures to mitigate commercial risks and leverage growth prospects in order to safeguard and enhance business value.
