To promote the health and safety of students and staff, this role involves delivering first aid, addressing minor illnesses and injuries, handling medical emergencies, administering prescribed medications, safeguarding confidential medical records, and assisting students with specialized health requirements.
To advance preventive health education, enforce infection control measures, raise hygiene awareness, promote proper nutrition, support mental well-being, and facilitate timely referrals to external healthcare providers when necessary.
Collaborating with students, parents, teachers, administrators, healthcare providers, and public health officials, the role focuses on maintaining a secure, healthy, and nurturing educational setting for all.
To support the surveillance of health risks, ensure the availability of medical supplies, facilitate school health protocols, and enforce emergency response and safeguarding measures.
Leads health promotion initiatives and screening programs within the school setting while ensuring familiarity with referral protocols to healthcare providers.
Promote awareness among students and staff regarding essential healthy practices, including balanced nutrition and personal hygiene, through informative sessions and resources.
The candidate must meet the following qualifications: a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, along with a minimum of five years of progressive experience in a similar role. Proficiency in industry-standard software and tools is essential, as is the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are also required to succeed in this position.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field required; 5+ years of software development experience; proficiency with Java, Python, or C++; experience in cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure is desired.
A recognized university or School of Nursing must confer a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
Licensed by the Nursing Council of Kenya is a mandatory requirement for this position.
A minimum of two to three years of hands-on nursing experience is required, with preference given to candidates who have worked in school health, pediatric care, adolescent medicine, or community health environments.
Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is a mandatory requirement for this position, ensuring that the candidate possesses essential life-saving skills.
