The Position
The Specialist – Program Governance oversees the seamless coordination, meticulous documentation, and successful implementation of YE FFA’s technical governance framework. This encompasses the Program Steering Group (PSG), the Strategic Advisory Group (SAG), and the Coordination & Collaboration Committee (CCC). The position delivers critical oversight and administrative leadership for governance processes, ensuring strategic decisions, operational execution, and institutional accountability remain aligned across AGRA’s 10 YE FFA countries.
The successful candidate will act as the foundational pillar of governance within the YE FFA Portfolio Management Hub (PMH), fostering decision-making processes that are thoroughly documented, systematically tracking action items, and optimizing feedback mechanisms between oversight and implementation teams. This individual will oversee governance calendars, facilitate high-level strategic meetings, compile concise briefing materials, and monitor the execution of approved resolutions. The position plays a vital role in enhancing AGRA’s credibility and alignment with the Mastercard Foundation and other key partners by guaranteeing that all governance-related interactions are executed punctually, with full transparency and a clear focus on measurable outcomes.

Deliver comprehensive coordination assistance to the governance bodies and affiliated boards and committees of YE FFA.
Plan and oversee governance calendars, ensuring meticulous scheduling, logistical arrangements, and seamless meeting coordination for PSG, SAG, and CCC.
Craft and distribute agendas, briefing documents, and background materials prior to scheduled meetings to ensure all participants are fully informed and prepared.

Collaborate with the Director of Gender, Youth, and Inclusiveness to ensure governance decisions align with organizational policies, donor mandates, and applicable regulatory standards.

A bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, International Development, Project Management, Political Science, or a related discipline is required.
Professionally Possession of a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or credentials in Governance and Compliance is considered beneficial.
Minimum of 10 years’ experience in program governance, coordination, or administration within international development organizations or donor-funded programs.
Proven track record in overseeing multi-stakeholder governance frameworks, program steering committees, or advisory boards.
Demonstrates a strong capacity for documenting decisions meticulously, preparing precise records, and ensuring adherence to governance standards within intricate operational settings.
Possesses proven expertise in collaborating with donor-funded organizations, including but not limited to the Mastercard Foundation, World Bank, or various bilateral agencies.
Proven capability to manage numerous tasks concurrently while maintaining exceptional coordination, communication, and organizational standards. Demonstrated skill in prioritizing responsibilities and executing them with precision under dynamic conditions.
Skilled in utilizing Microsoft Office applications—including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint—as well as digital collaboration tools such as Teams and SharePoint.
Exhibit a comprehensive grasp of governance frameworks, the mechanisms underlying decision-making, and methods for monitoring policy implementation.
Proficient in coordinating, organizing, and overseeing cross-functional initiatives with a focus on strategic alignment and execution.
