The Sectional IP Network Engineer–Field will ensure MAN network availability and customer uptime KPIs are met by performing on-site power-related maintenance for assigned MAN nodes, maintaining service quality and continuity in alignment with company KPIs, while adhering to budgeted cost constraints. Additionally, the role involves conducting Feasibility & Implementation assessments, as well as managing billing-related disconnections and reconnections of ISDN and PSTN circuits at the MAN level.

Proactively maintain MAN availability by ensuring consistent power supply through regular node maintenance.
Timely resolution of MAN and Switch power-related faults, ensuring adherence to established Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
Driving critical communications throughout the recovery process to keep the customer fully informed.
Perform feasibility assessments, implement solutions, and manage disconnections and reconnections for ISDN and PSTN circuits.
Compilation and maintenance of comprehensive documentation pertaining to customer setup procedures is a key responsibility.
Ensure a secure work environment by adhering to HSE protocols, engineering standards, established procedures, and applicable legal regulations.
Monitor individual performance metrics and recommend strategic initiatives to enhance productivity and effectiveness.
Oversee and maintain accurate records of network expenditures, ensuring alignment with financial reporting standards and collaborating closely with the Finance team to optimize budgetary allocations.

Achieving an exceptional average MAN availability of 99.65% for Nairobi-based Means throughout the year demonstrates outstanding operational performance and reliability.
To achieve operational excellence, 90% of Nairobi’s Means must consistently meet their Power performance targets.
Ninety percent of all Nairobi Metropolitan Service Area Networks (Means) achieve a Power standard exceeding ninety percent.
To ensure timely service restoration, disconnected lines must be reconnected within two hours of bill payment for 80% of cases.
Customer Service Level Agreement (SLA) compliance requires that 80% of all assigned provisioning and cessation cases be resolved within a 24-hour timeframe.
Must resolve 80% of reported faults within a four-hour window.
Perform quarterly routine maintenance on all MAN nodes, compile power autonomy status reports for each node, and deliver actionable recommendations based on findings.
Ensure all allocated Feasibility tickets are addressed and resolved within a 24-hour timeframe.
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and a proven track record of professional experience are required for consideration.
A Bachelor’s degree or Higher Diploma in Telecommunications, Technology, or a related Engineering field is required.
Demonstrated expertise in utilizing Microsoft Office applications is essential.
