Job Summary

The Program Assistant facilitates on-the-ground execution, ongoing monitoring, and data administration for the School Feeding Program and its associated sustainability efforts. This position guarantees precise data collection, adherence to school-level protocols, and prompt reporting of field operations.

Conducts a range of critical duties and responsibilities essential to the role, including performing specialized tasks with precision and efficiency. Facilitate the execution of school feeding programs at designated institutions, ensuring alignment with authorized project plans and established timelines.

Oversee the organization and execution of food delivery operations within the school, encompassing the receipt and preliminary validation of deliveries.

Support the coordination of field operations and the facilitation of stakeholder interactions.

Support the execution of school-based sustainability initiatives under the Sustainable School Meals Project (SSMP), in collaboration with the SSMP Project Officer, encompassing the establishment, monitoring, and provision of technical assistance for kitchen gardens, crop cultivation, and poultry farming.

Responsible for overseeing reporting, tracking performance metrics, and conducting evaluations to assess progress and outcomes. This role involves compiling and analyzing data, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in all reports, and identifying trends or areas for improvement. Additionally, the position requires maintaining meticulous records, preparing regular updates for stakeholders, and collaborating with teams to implement data-driven strategies based on evaluation findings.

Contribute to the drafting of quarterly and annual reports to document and communicate the progress of implementation efforts.

Responsibilities include maintaining and updating beneficiary and school records, specifically tracking enrollment details, feeding data, and contact information.

Perform consistent on-site school monitoring visits to verify that all aspects, including punctual food deliveries, stringent quality control measures, appropriate food storage protocols, and efficient utilization by schools, are being carried out as planned.

Collaborate in the creation and maintenance of Program Change/Impact documentation.

Regularly communicate progress updates on the school feeding program across all designated platforms to ensure transparency and stakeholder awareness.

Engage in the gathering of data for needs assessments, baselines, and impact evaluations at both the school and community levels.

Maintain consistent upkeep and accurate utilization of all tools and trackers in accordance with established requirements at all times.

Proficiency in agriculture and agronomy practices, with a particular focus on applications within educational institutions and neighboring communities, is essential for this role.

Proficiency in working within Arid and Semi-Arid Lands (BASAL) regions and among local communities constitutes a valuable asset for this role.

A valid motorcycle operator’s license is strongly preferred.

A valid motorcycle license and the physical ability to operate a two-wheeled vehicle are essential prerequisites for this role. Candidates should be prepared to utilize personal transportation via motorcycle as the primary means of reaching designated project locations.

Experienced in overseeing comprehensive projects with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring accurate monitoring and thorough reporting throughout all phases. Proven ability to track progress, analyze data, and present findings in clear, concise formats to stakeholders.

Skilled in operating various data collection and reporting platforms, including Kobe, OK, Google Forms, Excel, and Sheets, among others.
