Job Summary
Pearl Hospital, a Level 4 multi-specialty healthcare facility located in Lavinia County, is actively seeking a Community Oral and Health Officer. Oversee a range of critical duties, including managing project timelines, coordinating team efforts, and ensuring adherence to organizational policies. Develop and implement strategies to enhance operational efficiency while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance. Collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities for improvement and drive initiatives that support long-term growth. Additionally, monitor performance metrics to assess progress and address any deviations proactively.
Perform comprehensive oral assessments and evaluate patients’ dental health through detailed examinations.
Diagnose and provide treatment for prevalent oral and dental conditions.
Conduct both preventive and restorative treatments with precision.
Provide oral health education and counselling to patients and communities.
Engage in community outreach initiatives and educational programs aimed at enhancing dental health awareness.
Maintain compliance with infection prevention and control standards within the dental unit.
Prepare reports and maintain documentation as required
Ensure adherence to all regulatory standards set forth by both the Ministry of Health and the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC).
Minimum Qualifications
Holders of an academic credential in Community Oral Health, granted by a reputable educational institution, will be considered for this role.
Holders of a current, active practicing license and registration from the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council are required for this position.
A minimum of one to two years of hands-on clinical experience in a high-volume dental practice is highly desirable.
Basic life support (BLS) certification is highly beneficial.
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, coupled with strong interpersonal competencies, are essential for fostering productive workplace relationships and effective collaboration.
Proficiency in fundamental computer operations and experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems are highly beneficial.
Proficient candidates must demonstrate expertise in strategic planning, problem-solving, and stakeholder management to drive organizational success. Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex data are essential for identifying trends and making informed decisions. Excellent communication skills are required to collaborate effectively with teams, executives, and external partners. Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance standards is necessary to ensure adherence to legal and organizational policies. Prior experience in a leadership or management role is preferred, along with a proven track record of achieving measurable results.
