The Program Assistant facilitates on-the-ground execution, ongoing monitoring, and data administration for the School Feeding Program and its associated sustainability efforts. This position guarantees precise data collection, adherence to school-level protocols, and prompt reporting of field activities.

We provide comprehensive assistance throughout the full cycle of program implementation, ensuring seamless execution from inception to completion. Facilitate the execution of school feeding initiatives at designated institutions in accordance with authorized schedules and guidelines.
Oversee the facilitation of food delivery operations at the school level, encompassing receipt and preliminary verification procedures.
Support the coordination of on-site operations and liaise with key stakeholders to facilitate productive engagements.
Support the execution of sustainability initiatives at the school level under the Sustainable School Meals Project (SSMP), in collaboration with the SSMP Project Officer, encompassing activities such as the establishment and oversight of kitchen gardens, crop farming, poultry rearing, and the delivery of technical assistance.
The incumbent will be tasked with overseeing reporting, monitoring, and evaluation activities to ensure accurate data collection, timely submission of reports, and effective analysis of performance metrics. Responsibilities include compiling and verifying data, tracking progress against established benchmarks, and generating insights to inform decision-making. Additionally, the role involves maintaining documentation, adhering to reporting protocols, and collaborating with stakeholders to align efforts with organizational objectives. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in relevant software are essential.
Compose quarterly and annual reports to document and communicate the progress of implementation efforts.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for beneficiaries and schools, including enrollment details, feeding data, and contact information.
Conduct routine school monitoring visits to verify that implementation remains on track, encompassing timely food deliveries, stringent food quality assurance measures, appropriate food storage protocols, and efficient utilization by schools, among other critical aspects.
Assist in documenting Program Change/Impact narratives to ensure comprehensive record-keeping and analysis.
Regularly share updates on the various platforms regarding the execution of the school feeding program.
Contribute to the gathering of data for needs, baseline, and impact assessments conducted at both the school and community levels.
Maintain all required tools and trackers in current, accurate, and up-to-date status at all times.

Job Specification:
A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is essential, along with relevant professional certifications where applicable. Typically, a minimum of three years of hands-on experience in a comparable role is required, though some employers may consider candidates with equivalent practical expertise. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are critical, as are excellent communication and organizational abilities. Familiarity with industry-specific software and tools is often necessary, and prior leadership or project management experience can be advantageous. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
A bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant discipline such as Food Security, Agronomy, Community Development, Nutrition, or Social Work is required.
With a minimum of two years of hands-on experience in a relevant field, candidates must have held progressively responsible positions in School Feeding, Agriculture, Community Development, or Education in Emergencies.
Proficiency in agriculture and agronomy, particularly when applied within educational settings and adjacent communities, is required. Candidates should possess practical knowledge or hands-on experience in these fields to effectively engage with schools and their surrounding areas.
Proficiency in working within Arid and Semi-Arid Lands (BASAL) regions and among local communities will be considered a valuable asset.
A motorcycle riding license in good standing is strongly preferred for this role.
Must demonstrate the capacity and willingness to operate a motorcycle for travel to and from project locations.
Demonstrated expertise in overseeing intricate projects and compiling comprehensive reports.
Skilled in operating a variety of data collection and reporting platforms, including Kobe, OK, Google Forms, Excel, and Google Sheets, among others.
