Africa Institute is now seeking applications from highly qualified, motivated, and forward-thinking professionals who demonstrate a strong history of success to fill the role of Perioperative Theatre Technology Trainer.

We are seeking a highly motivated individual with a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess at least three years of hands-on experience in a similar role, demonstrating a strong understanding of industry best practices. Proficiency in [specific software/tools] is essential, along with exceptional problem-solving and communication skills. The position requires the ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines with a high degree of accuracy. Must have

Earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited academic institution.

A valid registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing Council of Kenya (NCK) is required.

A minimum of three years of hands-on training experience within a comparable institutional setting is required.

Holding a valid Technical Trainer Registration from the Technical and Vocational Education and Training Authority (THETA) is essential.

Key responsibilities also encompass overseeing project timelines, coordinating cross-functional teams, and ensuring deliverables meet quality standards. Additionally, the role involves analyzing data to identify trends, providing strategic recommendations, and maintaining compliance with industry regulations. Regular reporting to senior management and fostering stakeholder relationships are also critical components of this position.

Develop and deliver instructional units according to the prescribed course outline, ensuring alignment with the established curriculum standards.

The creation of educational resources, punctual preparation and submission of professional documentation, and systematic maintenance of records to track student progress, performance, and attendance are key responsibilities.

Craft and implement tailored educational strategies and learning schedules for each student to ensure their academic growth and success.

Evaluate students’ work and track their progress to ensure academic growth and success.

Participate in the course review process and adjust instructional delivery methods to better align with student requirements.

The Trainee Assessment Tests (C.A. Ts) and end-of-term assessments are reviewed, evaluated, and marked promptly. Subsequently, the scores are uploaded in a timely manner to the designated units within the Management Information System (MIS).

Deliver hands-on guidance to trainees while overseeing the compilation and organization of their evidence portfolios.

Overseeing students throughout examination periods, ensuring adherence to assessment protocols and maintaining an environment conducive to fair and accurate evaluation.

Assisting in the design, planning, and execution of a rigorous and high-quality curriculum is essential to this role.

Attend and actively engage in departmental meetings to contribute insights, discuss ongoing projects, and align on strategic objectives. Ensure clear communication of decisions, action items, and deadlines to all relevant team members while fostering collaboration and problem-solving among colleagues.
