Our client, a prominent telecommunications provider, is seeking to hire a Trade Development Representative.

Job purpose

To prioritize in-person visits to retail locations, aiming to enhance brand recognition among retailers and improve SIM and Float performance, while ensuring optimal visibility and merchandising standards at point of purchase for SOS and Trash agents.

Key responsibilities include leading and managing cross-functional teams to ensure project objectives are met, overseeing daily operations to maintain efficiency and productivity, and fostering a collaborative work environment that encourages innovation and accountability. Additionally, the role involves developing and implementing strategic plans to align with organizational goals, analyzing performance metrics to identify areas for improvement, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations and company policies. The position also requires mentoring and coaching team members to enhance their professional growth, managing stakeholder relationships to build strong partnerships, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to optimize workflow and deliver exceptional results.

Efficiently oversee the identification and recruitment of Agents, with a focus on mobile money outlets and high-traffic retail stores.

Regularly conduct visits to SOS and Agents in accordance with approved route plans (beat plans) to ensure consistent call coverage.

Provide the necessary transaction tools to SSO and agent outlets, ensuring all required resources are in place. Conduct comprehensive training sessions for SOS and Trash Agents to familiarize them with operational processes.

Provide comprehensive Anti-Money Laundering (AML) training to agents, focusing on Suspicious Transaction Reporting (STR) obligations and Know Your Customer (KYC) procedures as they pertain to the SIM Registration (SIM REG) framework. Conduct structured training sessions to ensure agents fully understand regulatory requirements and can effectively implement KYC protocols in alignment with SIM REG guidelines.

Float and stock management, along with sales oversight, require diligent monitoring to enforce the 1.5x stock rule for agents, guaranteeing that SOS maintain sufficient SIM inventory for seamless new registrations and activations.

To ensure consistent brand representation, merchandising standards must be established and upheld, with appropriate promotional materials readily available at all SSO and Agent outlets.

Requirements include a combination of academic credentials and relevant professional experience. Candidates must possess the necessary educational background, typically holding a degree in a related field, as well as a proven track record in a comparable role. Professional certifications or specialized training may also be required, depending on the position’s specific demands.
