As Group Legal Counsel within the East & North Africa legal team, you will provide expert leadership and guidance on legal affairs spanning designated regions, encompassing commercial contracts, corporate and regulatory compliance, data protection, competition law, intellectual property, sanctions and trade controls, as well as dispute resolution. In this role, you will collaborate closely with key business and legal stakeholders to manage high-value customer and supplier agreements, facilitate strategic partnerships, oversee corporate transactions, ensure robust governance, and deliver strategic advisory services.

You will collaborate as part of the Customer Unit East & North Africa legal team, reporting directly to the Head of Legal for the Customer Unit East & North Africa. This role is based in one of the territories within the specified region.

What You’ll Do

Serve as a reliable legal advisor, delivering practical and strategic counsel that advances business goals and facilitates successful deal completion.

Lead and facilitate negotiations for intricate customer, supplier, and partnership agreements, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and fostering mutually beneficial outcomes. Provide guidance and assistance to stakeholders throughout the negotiation process to secure favorable terms and mitigate risks.

Analyze and evaluate legal and business risks, implementing measures to minimize exposure while fostering growth and organizational transformation.

Provide strategic guidance on corporate governance, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements, managing competition matters, safeguarding data protection, protecting intellectual property, and overseeing trade control compliance.

Establish and nurture robust connections across diverse business units, functions, and geographical locations, promoting a culture of collaboration and open communication.

Deliver impact by guiding and developing others through structured coaching, mentoring, and knowledge-sharing programs, while championing best-practice initiatives to strengthen organizational capabilities.

Foster an environment that values diversity, promotes high performance, and encourages teamwork.

What You’ll Bring

A highly experienced legal professional with a minimum of seven years of practice, having served in prominent law firms or multinational corporate legal departments, is required.

Demonstrates extensive expertise in commercial, corporate, regulatory, and compliance matters with a proven track record of success.

Demonstrated expertise in managing intricate contractual agreements, navigating high-stakes negotiations, and facilitating international business operations.

Demonstrated expertise in business strategy combined with the capacity to effectively manage legal risks while advancing commercial goals.

Effective communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities are essential.

Proven capability to operate autonomously while effectively engaging and influencing senior stakeholders in varied professional settings.

Proficiency within technology or telecommunications industries is considered an advantageous asset.
