Role Summary

Mariana Enterprises Ltd. is actively recruiting a seasoned Earthworks Foreman to oversee and manage earthworks operations on road construction initiatives.

The ideal candidate will possess extensive practical expertise in road construction, with demonstrated proficiency in earthworks operations such as land clearing, excavation, embankment construction, fill placement, compaction, grading, drainage systems preparation, and subgrade formation.

This position seeks a highly motivated and self-driven professional capable of overseeing site teams, organizing plant and equipment operations, adhering to engineering and site management directives, and guaranteeing that earthworks are executed with strict adherence to safety protocols, operational efficiency, and project specifications.

Oversee and execute a range of critical duties essential to the role, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and standards. Manage key tasks autonomously while collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve shared goals. Develop and implement strategic initiatives that enhance operational efficiency and drive measurable outcomes. Maintain compliance with industry regulations and company policies through diligent oversight and proactive risk management. The Earthworks Foreman will oversee a range of responsibilities, including, but not limited to, the following tasks:

Responsible for overseeing site operations and managing earthworks activities, ensuring adherence to project specifications, safety protocols, and regulatory standards. Leads a team of laborers and equipment operators to execute earthmoving tasks efficiently, including excavation, grading, and site preparation. Monitors progress, resolves on-site challenges, and maintains accurate records of work performed. Collaborates closely with project managers, engineers, and contractors to align earthworks with overall construction timelines and quality benchmarks.

Oversee day-to-day earthmoving operations at road construction projects to ensure efficient and compliant execution.

Coordinate site preparation activities, including clearing, grubbing, excavation, cut-to-fill operations, embankment construction, backfilling, material spreading, grading, leveling, and compaction tasks.

Ensure all construction activities comply strictly with the approved drawings, specifications, levels, alignments, and directives issued by the Site Agent, Project Manager, or Engineer.

Ensure compliance with earthworks quality standards by verifying layer thickness, assessing moisture conditions, confirming adherence to compaction requirements, and evaluating overall workmanship quality.

Ensure that any inappropriate material is accurately identified, segregated, removed, or promptly reported to site management.

Provide support in establishing layout, maintaining level control, and collaborating with surveyors to guarantee that all works are carried out precisely according to the specified lines and elevations.

Responsibilities include overseeing the preparation of subgrades, road formations, shoulders, side drains, culvert approaches, and other associated earthworks areas to ensure compliance with project specifications and safety standards.

Ensure that all tasks are meticulously organized in the correct sequence to prevent any delays, rework, or superfluous relocation of equipment and materials.

We are seeking a skilled professional to oversee the coordination of labor, plant, and equipment resources. The role involves managing workforce allocation, ensuring the efficient deployment of machinery, and maintaining optimal operational workflows. Key responsibilities include scheduling personnel, monitoring equipment utilization, and coordinating between teams to enhance productivity and safety. Verify that all personnel adhere to established safety protocols and utilize the correct personal protective equipment (PPE) as specified for their respective tasks.

Assess and document hazardous situations, substandard craftsmanship, flawed materials, or potential hazards at the site, and communicate findings promptly.

Implement corrective measures to address any deviations from established quality benchmarks in work processes.

Ensure the on-site workspace remains consistently tidy, well-organized, and compliant with all safety regulations.

Responsible for managing reporting processes and ensuring seamless coordination across teams, this role involves compiling and analyzing data, generating accurate reports, and facilitating communication between departments to support informed decision-making and operational efficiency.

Submit daily progress reports to the Site Agent, Project Manager, or appointed site supervisor.

Maintain accurate logs of daily work progress, employee attendance, equipment utilization, material transfers, any delays encountered, and site-related issues.

Prepare daily site reports as necessary.

Collaborate effectively with surveyors, engineers, plant operators, storekeepers, subcontractors, and site teams to ensure seamless project execution and alignment across all stakeholders.

Ensure immediate communication regarding any deficiencies in materials, labor, equipment, fuel, water, or other essential resources that may impede earthworks operations.

Promptly elevate any technical issues, level discrepancies, design concerns, or site obstructions to the appropriate channels for resolution.

Seeking a highly skilled professional with a strong background in accounting and finance. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, along with a minimum of five years of progressive experience in financial analysis, reporting, or auditing. Proficiency in GAAP, tax regulations, and ERP systems is essential. Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are required, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Certification such as CPA, CMA, or CFA is highly desirable.

The preferred applicant must possess:

A minimum of five to seven years of hands-on experience in road construction is required, with a proven track record in earthworks operations.

Requires a minimum of three years of hands-on experience in a Foreman capacity or an equivalent supervisory position on-site.

Demonstrated expertise in overseeing earthwork operations for road construction initiatives.
