JOB PURPOSE
To streamline the clearance process for refrigerated shipping containers at the Port of Mombasa.
Oversee and execute core duties encompassing project management, team leadership, and strategic planning to ensure organizational objectives are met efficiently. Collaborate with cross-functional departments to streamline processes, identify growth opportunities, and implement solutions that enhance productivity and performance. Develop and maintain detailed reporting systems to track progress, evaluate outcomes, and provide data-driven insights for continuous improvement. Serve as a liaison between senior management and operational teams to foster alignment, transparency, and accountability in all initiatives. Lead training programs, mentorship initiatives, and performance evaluations to cultivate a high-performing, motivated workforce. Ensure compliance with industry regulations, company policies, and best practices to mitigate risks and uphold organizational integrity.
Prepare export documentation for clearance through customs, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Process all incoming documents utilizing the PA system, specifically WATTS, ensuring accurate and timely entry while maintaining strict adherence to established procedures and quality standards.
Secure KPA port charges.
Prepare and finalize all export documentation accurately before submitting them to the appropriate governing bodies for approval and processing.
Upon the arrival of containers at the port, temperature readings must be obtained for all reefer containers at entry and again after they are connected to the designated plugging points.
Upon receiving authorization from the appropriate regulatory agencies, process and release shipments within the WATTS system.
Upon the vessel’s departure, conduct follow-up actions to ensure plugging charges are properly secured.
After the vessel departs and the loading process concludes, ensure timely follow-up regarding Certificates of Entries (COE’s).
