AMI seeks a driven and skilled Financial Inclusion and Fintech Expert (Consultant) to create practical, accessible, and result-driven learning tools and resources tailored for young women entrepreneurs in Kenya, enabling them to comprehend, access, and confidently utilize available financial and fintech solutions.

Responsibilities

Develop the Fintech Knowledge Layer: Assume full responsibility for establishing the foundational fintech knowledge framework within the Digitize program.

Design educational resources that effectively explain access to finance requirements, borrowing practices, loan limits, repayment terms, and sustainable financing strategies.

Perform thorough market scans to identify and evaluate fintech solutions and financial service providers in Kenya that cater to agri-food micro-enterprises.

Identify and establish connections with credible financial institutions and fintech providers that align with the needs and qualifications of program participants.

Establish well-defined selection criteria to assess fintech solutions tailored to the financial circumstances of young women entrepreneurs operating within the agricultural value chain.

Engage in direct collaboration with fintech providers to obtain comprehensive insights regarding their product portfolios, user experience, and qualification criteria.

Develop a meticulously organized and intuitive Product Directory featuring a selection of pertinent financial products and services.

Draft safeguarding memorandums that effectively communicate advisory insights, outlining potential risks, responsible adoption practices, and key indicators of predatory lending behaviors.

Ensure all deliverables are gender-responsive, practical, and easily accessible for entrepreneurs with limited financial or digital literacy.

Consolidate learning content by collaborating with the team to merge outputs into a self-contained, user-friendly e-booklet highlighting fintech profiles and best practices for responsible borrowing.

Requirements

Requires deep domain knowledge of Kenya’s digital financial services and fintech landscape, coupled with a demonstrated history of engagement in the MSME sector.

Proven expertise in developing actionable toolkits, digital guides, or educational materials tailored to the needs of small business owners and entrepreneurs.

Demonstrates exceptional proficiency in research and analytical skills, with the capacity to independently develop profiles, create comprehensive mappings, and conduct thorough evaluations of financial products and services.

Skilled at distilling intricate financial information into straightforward, engaging, and practical content tailored for audiences without specialized expertise.

Professional professionals with a track record of designing training or educational materials specifically for micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises, possessing a solid grasp of the operational obstacles commonly encountered by micro-enterprise owners.

Possesses a strong understanding of gender-responsive programming or initiatives focused on women’s economic empowerment (WEE).

Proficiency in agribusiness or familiarity with agri-food value chains within Kenya would be beneficial for this role.

Proficiency in donor-funded or development-oriented initiatives within the financial inclusion sector represents an additional asset.
