Group Function Legal Affairs & Compliance (GALA) in EMEA delivers strategic guidance on commercial, regulatory, governance, and compliance initiatives, ensuring alignment with business objectives while safeguarding Ericsson’s interests and corporate reputation.

As Group Legal Counsel for the East & North Africa legal team, you will oversee legal matters across designated regions, encompassing commercial contracts, corporate and regulatory affairs, data protection, competition law, intellectual property, sanctions and trade controls, as well as dispute resolution. You will collaborate with business and legal stakeholders to manage high-value customer and supplier agreements, strategic partnerships, corporate transactions, governance initiatives, and advisory projects.

As part of the Customer Unit East & North Africa legal team, you will report directly to the Head of Legal for Customer Unit East & North Africa, with the position stationed in one of the designated territories within the region.

What You’ll Do

Serve as a reliable legal advisor, offering pragmatic and strategic counsel to advance business goals and facilitate the successful completion of transactions.

Negotiate intricate agreements with customers, suppliers, and partners, while providing leadership and guidance throughout the negotiation process.

Identify, evaluate, and reduce legal and business risks to facilitate organizational growth and drive strategic transformation.

Provide expert guidance on matters pertaining to corporate governance, adherence to regulatory requirements, competition law, data protection, intellectual property, and trade control.

Foster collaborative relationships across diverse business units, functions, and global regions while promoting openness and transparency.

Facilitate capability development by providing coaching, mentoring, knowledge transfer, and implementing best-practice strategies.

Foster a supportive, high-performing, and collaborative team environment.

What You’ll Bring

A highly experienced legal professional is required, possessing a minimum of seven years of practice within a prestigious law firm or a multinational corporate legal department.

Proven expertise in commercial, corporate, regulatory, and compliance-related matters is required, with a strong track record of handling such issues effectively.

Demonstrates a track record of effectively managing intricate contractual agreements, negotiating terms, and facilitating international business operations.

Demonstrated proficiency in business strategy and the capacity to effectively reconcile legal considerations with commercial goals.

Skilled in fostering clear and effective communication, adept at negotiating outcomes, and proficient in managing stakeholder relationships.

Proven capacity to operate autonomously while effectively engaging and persuading key decision-makers in varied professional settings.

Proficiency in the technology or telecommunications industry is considered beneficial.
