Investment Teams focus on sourcing viable acquisition targets, conducting comprehensive due diligence assessments, and overseeing the continuous management of portfolio assets. The Sustainability Manager plays a pivotal role by contributing to the due diligence phase and maintaining an active involvement in the stewardship, performance tracking, and enhancement of the fund manager’s assets. The investment portfolio encompasses core infrastructure assets—including toll roads, airports, ports, renewable energy installations (such as wind, hydro, and solar facilities), as well as digital and telecoms towers—alongside medium to large-scale enterprises operating across the African continent.
You will oversee the following responsibilities:
Serving as the primary liaison for the fund manager, you will gain comprehensive insight into their business operations and collaborate closely to shape and execute the fund manager’s ESG and impact strategy.
Interpret, champion, and enhance the fund manager’s environmental and social management frameworks as required.
Provide assistance to investment teams in conducting ESG due diligence to assess whether potential investments align with OMAR’s ESG requirements, such as UN PRI, the Equator Principles, IFC Performance Standards, IFC EHS and Sector Guidelines, and ILO standards.
Deliver specialized guidance spanning diverse industries and investment categories to adeptly oversee ESG risks while advancing the achievement of beneficial outcomes.
Review sustainability elements of projects, supporting specialists in execution and ensuring alignment with contractual obligations concerning the sustainability criteria of the various fund assets.
Provide support to asset managers in overseeing and guiding asset investments to ensure adherence to sustainability commitments. This involves visiting locations and interacting with leadership teams to facilitate effective implementation.
Compilation of investor and sustainability reports, alongside addressing ad-hoc investor/shareholder ESG-related inquiries and client engagements, is required.
We gather, organize, and analyze sustainability data to extract meaningful insights for both internal stakeholders and external clients.
Professional Rewriting:
Educating investment teams on key sustainability topics and methodologies to enhance their strategic decision-making processes.
Ensure adherence to all Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) compliance obligations for the Fund.
