"BECOME advances governance, youth, and socioeconomic son Kenya’s coast."
The Kenya Community Support Center (BECOME) was established in 2006 and has since operated in Kenya’s coastal region. Founded to address challenges in democratic governance, socioeconomic conditions, and youth empowerment—with a particular focus on coastal communities—BECOME is committed to advancing good governance as the cornerstone for sustainable socioeconomic progress at all levels of society.
Registered as a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) in Kenya under Section 10 of the Non-Governmental Organizations Coordination Act, BECOME holds certificate number OP.218/051/2006/0324/4307, dated September 6, 2006. The organization acknowledges a critical gap: the majority of citizens remain marginalized and insufficiently engaged in public policy processes that shape their social, economic, and political well-being. Additionally, BECOME recognizes that national and local governments have often overlooked the valuable individual and collective creativity of the people.
