Oversee core responsibilities encompassing strategic planning, operational execution, and stakeholder coordination to ensure alignment with organizational objectives. Develop and implement policies, procedures, and performance metrics to optimize productivity and foster a culture of accountability. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify growth opportunities, mitigate risks, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Manage resources efficiently, including budget allocation, talent development, and technology integration, while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards and industry best practices. Serve as a liaison between leadership and employees to facilitate transparent communication, resolve conflicts, and promote a collaborative work environment. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess progress, provide data-driven insights, and recommend corrective actions as needed. Lead project initiatives from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery, adherence to quality standards, and alignment with strategic priorities.

Provide comprehensive logistical assistance for on-site operations, encompassing sampling procedures and data processing tasks.

Assist in the management of laboratory functions and facilitate the development of primary cell line cultures.

Maintain and oversee stem cell cultures and preserved cell lines to uphold quality standards and ensure viability.

Conduct or ganoid differentiation according to documented procedures and established guidelines.

Perform biobanking operations, such as cryopreservation and sample management, to ensure the preservation and integrity of biological specimens.

Perform molecular biology assays and assist with cellular characterization procedures.

Maintain precise records of data and facilitate effective data management and Digital Sequence Information (DSI) processes.

Ensure adherence to all project documentation mandates, laboratory biosafety regulations, and quality assurance procedures.

Facilitate capacity-building efforts and cultivate productive partnerships with World Fish and CARS project collaborators.

Facilitate stakeholder engagement initiatives by organizing and delivering training sessions and outreach programs.

Establish and enforce biosafety and ethical research protocols while fostering a culture of compliance among team members.

Drafting and refining manuscripts and publications represent a significant component of this role, involving detailed contributions to written materials designed to disseminate research findings and insights.

Execute any additional duties that may be assigned to support operational objectives.

Requirements

A degree or diploma in molecular biology, biotechnology, animal science, cell biology, genetics, biomedical sciences, veterinary sciences, aquatic biology, or a closely related field is required.

We are seeking candidates who possess either two years of professional experience in a related field complemented by an appropriate degree, or four years of hands-on experience within the industry, supported by a relevant diploma.

Seasoned professionals possess substantial hands-on expertise in molecular biology and biotechnology methodologies, having conducted extensive laboratory work within these specialized fields.

Proven expertise in sterile tissue culture methodologies is required, encompassing the maintenance and manipulation of cell lines under aseptic conditions to ensure contamination-free environments and reliable experimental outcomes.

Proficiency in molecular biology techniques, including PCR, nucleic acid extraction, and gel electrophoresis, is required.

Proficient in the preparation, processing, and management of biological specimens, as well as the operation and maintenance of various laboratory instruments and equipment.

Proficient in meticulously documenting and organizing all laboratory records to ensure accuracy and compliance with established protocols.

Proficiency in biosafety protocols and laboratory quality management systems is essential.

Proficiency in stem cell culture methodologies or or ganoid system techniques is required.

Proficiency in cryopreservation techniques and biobanking operations is required.

Possesses a solid understanding of genetic resources pertaining to livestock and aquatic species.

Proficiency in genomics or sequencing workflows is required, along with a thorough understanding of the associated methodologies and processes.

Proficiency in laboratory information management systems (LIES) is strongly preferred.

Proficiency in ABS, DSI, or biodiversity governance frameworks is required.
