"Professional microfinance fostering economic empowerment in remote communities."
Vision Fund Kenya (VFK), originally established as CADET Ltd in 2000 by World Vision Kenya, was created to create a specialized microfinance institution dedicated to advancing professionalism in credit intermediation and fostering economic empowerment through business development for underserved rural communities. Over time, VFK has solidified its position as a leading rural financier, building a sustainable portfolio that underscores the viability of rural financial services.
In collaboration with World Vision Kenya, VFK is dedicated to empowering remote communities across Kenya by designing loan products that harness clients’ economic capabilities while strengthening their social and financial literacy for both immediate and long-term financial resilience. By providing small loans and financial services to families experiencing poverty, the organization enhances the well-being of children in Kenya. Empowering clients to establish and expand successful businesses contributes to better health and educational outcomes for children, enabling them to thrive. Guided by the principles of its Christian mission and in partnership with World Vision, VFK is committed to sustainable transformation that unlocks opportunities for future generations.
VFK employs a group-based lending methodology, which not only enhances operational efficiency but is also essential for reaching and serving rural populations effectively. Selectively, tailored individual lending solutions are offered to meet the evolving needs of clients. VFK’s comprehensive suite of financial products includes Asset Loans, Business Loans, Agriculture Loans, and School Fees Loans.
