"GENIC manages Kenya’s .KE domain and digital infrastructure."
The Kenya Network Information Centre (GENIC) was established with the support of the Communications Authority of Kenya (CAK). As the designated manager and administrator of the .KE Country Code Top-Level Domain (.KE ccTLD), GENIC oversees the registration and maintenance of all .KE domain names.
Originally founded as a non-profit organization, GENIC’s establishment followed extensive consultations with Kenya’s local internet community. This collaboration between public and private sectors marked a foundational step in advancing Kenya’s Internet and ICT ecosystem.
Vision
To be a trusted steward of Kenya’s domain name space by administering the .KE ccTLD in a manner that is efficient, transparent, and fair, while aligning with global internet governance standards.
Mission
To foster, regulate, and manage the .KE ccTLD in service of Kenya’s internet community, ensuring adherence to best practices and ICANN policies that uphold the interests of the global digital ecosystem.
