Leadership
Progressive Credit is guided by a leadership team of exceptional professionals with extensive expertise across diverse sectors. At the helm is Mbaabu Muchiri, our Managing Director, whose career spans banking, manufacturing, and education. Before joining us, he served as a Director of Credit at Equity Bank, where he played a pivotal role in its transformation from a building society to a leading commercial bank. Under his leadership, the bank’s loan portfolio expanded from Ash 3 billion to Ash 100 billion, while non-performing loans declined from 12% to just 2%.

Prior to Equity Bank, Mbaabu spent six years at the Central Bank of Kenya as a Banking Supervisor, where he contributed to significant reductions in industry-wide non-performing loans. Earlier in his career, he held senior roles at Coca-Cola Africa for five years. His dedication to reimagining credit solutions and optimizing delivery mechanisms reflects his passion for innovation and customer-centricity.
