As a Communications & Marketing Specialist at Pathfinder International, you will provide essential support to the global communications and fundraising initiatives. Reporting directly to the Communications Director, your responsibilities will include assisting in the creation of communications materials, organizing events, and producing digital content tailored for the website, social media platforms, and fundraising campaigns. Working closely with the Communications Director and Development Marketing Advisor, you will play a key role in enhancing Pathfinder’s brand recognition among critical audiences.

Oversee a diverse array of critical tasks, including the development and implementation of strategic initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, the management of cross-functional teams to achieve organizational objectives, and the monitoring of performance metrics to ensure alignment with company goals. Collaborate closely with senior leadership to align departmental strategies with broader business priorities, while also fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement within the team. Additionally, identify opportunities for innovation, lead process optimization efforts, and ensure compliance with industry regulations and internal policies to mitigate risks and drive sustainable growth.

Providing comprehensive communications support, this role involves managing and coordinating various communication channels to ensure seamless information flow within the organization. Responsibilities include drafting, editing, and distributing internal and external communications, maintaining brand consistency, and supporting crisis communications as needed. The ideal candidate will possess strong written and verbal communication skills, proficiency in content management systems, and the ability to work under tight deadlines while collaborating with cross-functional teams. Experience in public relations, corporate communications, or a related field is highly desirable.

Provide editorial assistance to country teams, developing and refining content for blogs, feature stories, one-pagers, briefing documents, and other communications materials.

Graphics and visual content are created to engage diverse stakeholders, such as contributors, collaborators, and press representatives.

This multifaceted discipline requires expertise in search engine optimization (SEO), pay-per-click (PPC) advertising, social media marketing, email campaigns, and content creation to enhance brand visibility and customer acquisition. Candidates should possess a proven track record in developing data-driven strategies, analyzing performance metrics, and optimizing campaigns for maximum return on investment (ROI). Proficiency in marketing automation tools, analytics platforms, and CRM systems is essential, along with a strong grasp of current industry trends and consumer behavior. Exceptional communication skills, creativity, and analytical acumen are critical for crafting compelling messaging and evaluating campaign effectiveness. A bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field is typically required, though equivalent professional experience may be considered.

What You Bring:

A Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, Graphic Design, or a closely related discipline is required.

With a minimum of one year and up to three years of professional experience in communications and marketing, the ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in developing and executing strategic initiatives. This role requires hands-on involvement in crafting compelling messaging, managing digital platforms, and analyzing campaign performance to drive engagement and brand awareness. Proficiency in content creation, social media management, and data-driven decision-making is essential to support organizational goals and foster meaningful connections with target audiences.

Proficiency in contemporary design software applications (such as Canva and Adobe products) and web-based solutions, including content management systems, is required.

A track record of success in leading and executing cross-functional projects, combined with strong skills in integrating and aligning the efforts of diverse teams, is required. This encompasses the capacity to efficiently consolidate and coordinate contributions from various stakeholders.

Demonstrates the capacity to manage multiple facets of a project simultaneously while ensuring each task is completed with exceptional precision and adherence to high standards.

Skilled at fostering constructive relationships and securing buy-in from critical stakeholders through tactful negotiation and persuasive communication.

Preferred Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as computer science, engineering, or mathematics. Additional assets include certifications in cloud computing, cybersecurity, or agile methodologies, as well as a proven track record in delivering technical solutions or leading cross-functional teams. Professional experience within a globally distributed, matrix-structured organization is required.
