Role Description
The Sales Manager position is a full-time, on-site opportunity situated in Nairobi County, Kenya.
This position is accountable for fostering sales expansion within both current and new franchise locations by establishing and overseeing sales benchmarks, evaluating performance metrics, and deploying strategic initiatives to enhance revenue generation and market reach.
The Sales Manager will be responsible for directing and mentoring a sales team, delivering consistent onsite support, and cultivating robust connections with franchise partners and key stakeholders.
The position entails analyzing sales data, compiling detailed reports, and collaborating with supply chain and operations teams to streamline processes. Additionally, the role requires supporting the introduction of new products or promotional initiatives, conducting comprehensive market research, and uncovering growth opportunities in rural and peri-urban regions. A key responsibility is ensuring all sales-related activities are executed in alignment with Wing’s core mission and guiding principles.
Seeking a candidate with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, supplemented by at least three years of hands-on experience in software development or systems engineering. Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or C++ is essential, along with familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure. The ideal applicant will demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities, excellent teamwork skills, and a track record of delivering high-quality technical solutions. Responsibilities include designing scalable software architectures, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and maintaining robust system performance.
Seasoned professionals with a track record in overseeing sales teams are sought, ideally within fast-moving consumer goods, retail, or franchise-driven business sectors.
Proven expertise in developing strategic sales plans, generating accurate forecasts, and monitoring performance through comprehensive data analysis and key metrics.
Proven track record in leading, mentoring, and inspiring sales teams to surpass ambitious performance goals.
Proven capability to establish and sustain strong connections with franchisees, partners, and key community stakeholders.
Proven ability to operate effectively in both rural and peri-urban environments, adopting a practical, field-focused methodology.
Exceptional proficiency in English, encompassing strong communication, negotiation, and presentation abilities, is essential, while fluency in Kiswahili would be advantageous.
Proven capability to analyze complex issues and develop effective solutions, demonstrated through a track record of navigating dynamic and rapidly evolving startup conditions with resilience and flexibility.
A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related discipline is required; professional certifications in the field are advantageous.
A thorough familiarity with the Kenyan retail environment and base-of-the-pyramid markets is strongly preferred.
Demonstrates flexibility to undertake regular travel within Kenya to provide assistance to franchise locations and drive sales initiatives.
