This senior position oversees the seamless and high-impact execution of a broad portfolio of programs, guiding a cross-functional team while fostering collaboration with global partners to advance excellence in research outcomes. Overseeing key responsibilities that encompass a range of critical tasks and strategic initiatives to drive organizational success and operational excellence.

Represent LSTM in engagements with government agencies, funders, collaborators, and regional as well as international stakeholders.

Serve as a senior operational liaison, fostering collaboration and communication between internal teams and external partners.

Design and establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and robust performance management frameworks to measure and enhance program effectiveness.

Assist in the development and implementation of organizational design initiatives, workforce planning strategies, and governance frameworks to ensure optimal structural alignment and operational efficiency.

Ensure adherence to all applicable regulatory frameworks, ethical standards, and data governance policies, maintaining full compliance within all operational activities and processes.

Direct project meetings and participate in steering committees to provide strategic guidance and ensure alignment with project objectives.

Responsibilities include managing the financial aspects of research grants, facilitating budget preparation, conducting financial forecasts, and ensuring accurate financial reporting.

Develop and integrate uniform program management standards, methodologies, and systems throughout LSTM Kenya.

Ensure that work plans are managed effectively to guarantee timely completion, adherence to quality standards, and adherence to budgetary constraints.

Maintain adherence to donor-specific stipulations and ensure continuous readiness for audits.

Ideally, you will exhibit a strong capacity for demonstrating key competencies that align with our organizational needs.

Educated to a master’s degree level or possessing substantial equivalent experience within the sector

Professional training in program or project management, demonstrating expertise in coordinating initiatives, allocating resources, and ensuring timely delivery within defined parameters.

Experienced professionals sought to oversee extensive health research initiatives spanning multiple partners or countries, demonstrating a proven track record in managing complex, collaborative programs.

Proven expertise in overseeing the administrative aspects of clinical trials and research initiatives is required.

Proven expertise in quality assurance methodologies applied across diverse project portfolios is essential.

Professional candidates should have prior experience conducting health research in Kenya or comparable international settings.

Successfully managed research grants within academic, clinical, or NGO environments, delivering measurable outcomes and ensuring compliance with funding requirements.

Accomplished leadership and a proven track record in guiding and developing high-performing teams are required.
