The Partnerships Associate will provide administrative and strategic support in overseeing Chance Kenya’s portfolio of partner educational institutions (PEI’s). This position entails overseeing critical facets of partnership management to uphold the integrity and long-term viability of our ISA investments. Oversee and execute core duties encompassing the strategic planning and implementation of key initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives. Collaborate cross-functionally to drive project completion, maintain operational efficiency, and foster innovation in processes. Monitor performance metrics to identify trends, address challenges proactively, and recommend data-driven solutions for continuous improvement. Prepare comprehensive reports, presentations, and documentation to communicate progress, outcomes, and recommendations to stakeholders at all levels. Collaborate in drafting, formalizing, and overseeing partnership agreements and contractual arrangements to ensure alignment with organizational objectives and compliance standards.
Play a pivotal role in assessing and maintaining the ongoing relevance of existing alliances to uphold alignment with Chance’s vision and strategic goals.
Develop comprehensive engagement strategies for each PEI, detailing scheduled monthly and quarterly interactions, performance evaluations, and corrective measures.
Monitor partnership agreements to verify compliance with performance expectations, ensuring that Program Engagement Initiatives (PEI’s) adhere to service-level agreements (SLAs), meet reporting deadlines, and fulfill system usage mandates.

Compile comprehensive, strategically structured reports detailing partnership pipeline developments, progress toward established targets, and critical performance indicators for distribution to internal stakeholders.
Deliver continuous assistance to PEI staff regarding system utilization, escalation procedures, and software updates.
Oversee the yearly audit process for designated PEI’s, guaranteeing complete adherence to partnership agreements, reporting protocols, and payment schedules.
Provide comprehensive support for disbursement processes and portfolio management activities. Ensure timely and accurate execution of financial transactions while maintaining adherence to established policies and procedures. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to monitor portfolio performance, assess risk factors, and implement corrective measures as needed. Prepare detailed reports to track disbursement statuses, analyze portfolio trends, and present findings to stakeholders. Maintain meticulous records of all transactions and communications to support audit trails and regulatory compliance.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Finance, SAM, Communications & Community, Repayments, and Data, to ensure the prompt and precise allocation of funds to partners.
Verify that every cohort within the PEI fulfills commitment fee obligations and maintains an active session prior to processing any disbursements to the PEI.
Seeking candidates with a minimum of five years of experience in a relevant field, along with a bachelor’s degree in a related discipline. Proficiency in specialized software or tools pertinent to the position is essential. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities are required, as well as excellent communication and teamwork skills. The ideal candidate should demonstrate a track record of delivering results in a fast-paced environment and exhibit adaptability to evolving priorities. Prior leadership or project management experience is highly desirable.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is mandatory; advanced degrees are a plus.
• Minimum of five years of hands-on experience in software development, with a strong focus on cloud technologies and microservices architecture.
• Proven expertise in designing, implementing, and optimizing scalable, fault-tolerant systems using cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Extensive knowledge of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
• Proficiency in multiple programming languages, including but not limited to Java, Python, Go, or JavaScript, with the ability to write clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, logging, and observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack).
• Solid understanding of networking concepts, security best practices, and compliance frameworks (e.g., SOC 2, ISO 27001).
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical initiatives, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to troubleshooting complex system issues.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Social Sciences, Project Management, International Development, Marketing, or a closely related discipline is required.
Proven success in a partnership, business development, data analysis, or project management capacity, with a track record spanning 2–3 years. A background in the education sector, financial services, or impact investing would be particularly advantageous.
Demonstrates outstanding analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a track record of effectively resolving routine to moderately complex operational challenges.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential, enabling the ability to establish trust, cultivate relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, and convey information effectively through both written and oral communication.
Demonstrates exceptional mastery of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint at an advanced level.
