Job Summary

The Program Officer will facilitate the advancement of the educational and implementation research initiatives under the PEP MTCs program while spearheading institutional-level advocacy efforts. This position is dedicated to enhancing research methodologies, encouraging the adoption of cutting-edge teaching techniques, and driving greater resource allocation toward cardiometabolic disease (CMD) education and research across CHALK Medical Training Colleges.

Oversee a comprehensive range of critical tasks and operational duties, ensuring seamless execution and alignment with organizational objectives. Develop, implement, and monitor strategies to enhance productivity, efficiency, and adherence to established protocols. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain cohesive workflows and deliver high-quality results. Collaborate with CHALK MTC leadership, faculty, and students to garner support for curriculum reforms and pioneering teaching methodologies.

Monitor institutional-level progress of research and advocacy initiatives.

Develop comprehensive reports, detailed case studies, and compelling success narratives to be incorporated into program documentation.

Prepare donor reports and institutional publications to ensure accurate and timely dissemination of information.

Seeking a qualified candidate with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, along with at least three years of experience in software development. Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or C++ is required, along with experience in database management and API development. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment are essential. Familiarity with Agile methodologies and experience in cloud computing environments are highly desirable.

A master’s degree in Public Health, Education, Research Methods, or a closely related discipline is required for this role.

A relevant Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in a medical discipline—such as nursing, Clinical Medicine, or Laboratory Science—is required for this position.

A minimum of three years of professional experience in education research, advocacy, or health systems strengthening is required.

Demonstrated understanding of chronic mental disorders (CMDs), non-communicable diseases (NCDs), and the complexities surrounding workforce development initiatives in Kenya.
