The Company Procurement Manager spearheads the strategic planning and implementation of centralized procurement initiatives for Raeburn Schools Limited, covering both domestic and international sourcing. Spearhead the oversight of all centralized procurement functions across the organization, strategically balancing engagements with both domestic and international suppliers.

Formulate and execute comprehensive strategic sourcing initiatives aimed at enhancing cost efficiency, maintaining high quality standards, and ensuring timely delivery for procurement activities across the organization, while evaluating opportunities in both domestic and global markets.

Your responsibilities will include negotiating and administering contracts with critical suppliers across local and global markets to secure advantageous terms and conditions.

Oversee and manage the entire import logistics process for company-wide purchasing, ensuring seamless shipping, efficient customs clearance, and timely delivery to specified destinations, while cultivating and maintaining robust local supplier partnerships.

Ensure strict adherence to Kenyan regulatory frameworks, international trade legislation, and ethical procurement practices across all company-wide purchasing functions.

Oversee local procurement operations to actively foster local economic growth whenever feasible.

Duties include supervising procurement activities at the school level to ensure compliance with regulations and institutional policies. Responsibilities encompass monitoring purchasing processes, verifying vendor selections, and validating contract terms to maintain transparency and accountability in acquisitions. The role requires adherence to budgetary constraints, timely processing of requisitions, and collaboration with stakeholders to streamline procurement workflows. Familiarity with procurement software, financial guidelines, and local purchasing laws is essential. Craft and uphold thorough procurement policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure effective implementation at the school site level.

Offer expert counsel and assistance to school administrators and staff regarding procurement best practices and compliance obligations.

Perform regular assessments and evaluations of procurement activities at the school level to verify compliance with established policies and procedures.

Provide professional growth and enhancement programs tailored for procurement staff at the school level.

Serve as the primary escalation contact for resolving intricate procurement challenges encountered at the school level.

Supplier Relationship Management (Local and International): You will be responsible for cultivating and maintaining strong partnerships with both local and global suppliers, ensuring they meet organizational standards and deliver consistent, high-quality products and services. This role involves negotiating contracts, evaluating supplier performance, and resolving any issues that arise to minimize disruptions in the supply chain. Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, and forecasts to provide actionable insights for decision-making. Develop, oversee, and administer the centralized procurement budget, encompassing expenditures related to both domestic and international sourcing activities.

Perform comprehensive market research and cost evaluations to uncover potential avenues for reducing procurement expenses at the organizational level.

Prepare comprehensive reports on centralized procurement activities, performance indicators, and cost-saving achievements, incorporating import-related metrics on a regular basis.

The position requires a thorough understanding of international and local regulatory frameworks, robust analytical skills to assess evolving compliance requirements, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to enforce consistent governance measures.

Proactively assess and address potential risks linked to domestic and global procurement operations, such as supply chain interruptions, quality deficiencies, and evolving regulatory requirements.

Ensure adherence to Kenyan regulatory requirements, international trade legislation, and ethical procurement standards at the organizational level.

Ensure adherence of schools to established procurement policies of the company.

Collaborates effectively across various departments and teams to ensure cohesive project execution and alignment with organizational objectives. Engages with stakeholders to gather diverse perspectives, mitigate potential conflicts, and foster an inclusive environment that enhances innovation and problem-solving. Work collaboratively with Executive Principals, school administrators, department heads, and other key stakeholders to identify and analyze their procurement requirements, whether local or international.

Spearhead collaborative efforts across diverse teams to enhance enterprise-wide procurement functions, prioritizing the optimization of logistics processes and cultivating robust local partnerships.

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required, along with a minimum of three years of professional experience in a similar role. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential, as well as excellent communication and organizational abilities. Proficiency in industry-specific software and tools is mandatory. The ideal candidate must demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning and adaptability to evolving technologies. Prior experience in project management or team leadership is highly desirable.

A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or an equivalent field is required.

Professional certification in Purchasing and Supply Management, such as CAPS or KISS, is required.

A minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in procurement management is required, including at least 5 years in a leadership position overseeing teams and strategic initiatives.

Proven track record in delivering leadership and management development programs.
