The Accounts Payable role encompasses a range of financial responsibilities centered on processing and managing outgoing payments. Key duties include verifying invoices for accuracy, reconciling discrepancies, and ensuring timely disbursements to vendors and suppliers. Receive and validate supplier invoices within the Na vision system, accurately allocating them to designated cost centers and general ledger accounts.
Ensure precise accounting for all relevant taxes on supplier invoices, such as VAT, Withholding Tax, and other statutory deductions, in strict compliance with Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) and Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) regulations.
Each week, prepare supplier payment schedules for submission to the Accounts Payables Manager for review and approval.
Process approved supplier payments using Na vision, maintaining prompt settlement of outstanding creditor balances. Additionally, conduct thorough reconciliations of all supplier and bank accounts, addressing and resolving any discrepancies without delay.
Ensure accurate accruals for services rendered and goods received but not yet invoiced during the month-end closing process.
Maintain the creditors’ ledger within Na vision, ensuring all supplier records remain precise and current at all times.
Collaborate closely with the Procurement and Operations teams to validate that purchase orders, delivery notes, and invoices align correctly before processing, ensuring a seamless three-way match.
Handle all intercompany transactions in adherence to established accounting policies and regulatory standards, ensuring prompt and accurate settlement of balances. Regularly reconcile intercompany accounts to identify and resolve discrepancies, maintaining precise records of all financial interactions between entities. Prepare landed cost entries in Na vision for imported items, ensuring accurate recording of freight, insurance, and customs duties.
Support statutory audits and tax filings by preparing precise accounts payable schedules, conducting thorough reconciliations, and compiling supporting documentation for entities operating in both Kenya and Nigeria.
Overseeing inventory management and cost analysis functions, the incumbent will be tasked with maintaining accurate stock records, conducting regular audits, and ensuring optimal inventory levels to meet operational demands. Monthly, compile and present inventory balances along with the associated cost of sales. Additionally, highlight and document any slow-moving, damaged, or obsolete items for review by the Costing Manager.
Develop aging reports for inventory and identify items that are slow-moving, expired, or obsolete for management evaluation.
Responsible for investigating and rectifying discrepancies, variances, and write-offs within inventory records to ensure accurate stock management and financial alignment.
Ensure robust internal controls and full compliance with established inventory policies and procedures.
Collaborate with Warehouse, Commissary, and Store teams to verify that stock movement records are both accurate and completed promptly.
Compile analytical inventory reports that provide management with critical data essential for informed decision-making processes.
Assist the Costing Manager with conducting inventory audits, executing year-end stock-takes, and managing postings.

Qualifications
Seeking candidates who either possess or are actively pursuing a recognized professional accounting credential, such as the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation, the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ARCA) qualification, or an equivalent certification.
Applicants must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Commerce, Finance, or a comparable business-related discipline.
With a minimum of five years of hands-on experience, preferably within the hotel, restaurant, and catering industry, candidates should demonstrate proven expertise in high-pressure, service-oriented environments.
