Warehouse Supervisor

SENIORITY LEVEL: Non management

REPORTS TO: Warehouse Manager
ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES
As a warehouse supervisor your responsibility will be to efficiently supervise that the Finished Goods, WMS and Leaf Warehouses are in line with BAT best practices and industry standards and to ensure timely and accurate completion of physical and system transactions. These are done by the logistics service provider (3PL) and require close monitoring and supervision to ensure compliance to BAT processes and procedures in relation to SAP System, Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S), security and local rules and regulations. You will also ensure the logistics service provider (3PL) completes the processes of receiving stocks from the factory and issuing of Export and Domestic orders On Time & In Full.
WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR
Operations/ Professional/ Business

To ensure timely and accurate physical receipts of wrapping materials, FG, and leaf stocks in the respective warehouses.
Timely and accurate SAP transactions of receipts, dispatches, and stock movements in between warehouses and to customers.
Ensure 100% inventory accuracy through regular stock-takes
Monitor finished goods inventory duration days while highlighting variances against policy
Report Stock durations and Aging Analysis
Increase stock dispatch efficiency through the development of simple processes and tools to monitor performance and productivity in warehouses. {Internal & external warehouses}.
Monitor performance of 3PLs through effective KPI’s
Timely daily, weekly, monthly stock reports
Manage the transition of one Day stores & Palletizing operations.

Management

Ensure 100% compliance to regulations (EHS, Customs/Excise, Audit etc.)
Implement finished goods stock management policy as developed by and global best practice.
Optimum Warehouse operations and resource utilization through good planning and stock arrangement
Implement Stockholding & Loading policy
Keep a track of write off/obsolete stocks
Ensure safe disposal/destruction of approved write-offs within regulations
Implement records management as per BAT policy

Leadership

Demonstrate good leadership of the 3PLs to deliver business results
Ensure monthly feedback session with the team
Learn and train team on new systems and procedures
Lead warehouse management projects to achieve expected deliverables.

 Relationship

Implement the controls in place to avoid any losses of stocks.
Ensure a strong working relationship with the Factory, Customer Facing Team and 3PLs for efficient execution of orders through effective planning
Ensure a strong working relationship with the Resident Kenya Revenue Officers

Innovation

Identify opportunities for greater efficiency and effectiveness of the warehouses.
Create reports that will monitor and challenge performance of 3PLs.
Drive warehouse productivity improvements together with the 3PLs and benchmark our operations with other FMCGs or BAT Operations.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

Degree in Logistics or Supply chain or equivalent
Sound Knowledge in SAP and Warehouse Management System
Good computer literacy
3 years of experience in a FMCG company.
Good knowledge of warehouse and inventory management
Import / export knowledge or experience
Have good forward-planning skills
Have good spoken and written communication skills
Have good analytical skills
Be able to prioritize workloads and work under pressure
