Investment Teams identify prospective acquisitions, conduct thorough due diligence before finalizing investments, and manage portfolio assets on an ongoing basis. The Sustainability Manager contributes to the due diligence process and plays a continuous role in overseeing, monitoring, and enhancing the fund manager’s asset performance. The portfolio encompasses core infrastructure assets like toll roads, airports, ports, and renewable energy projects (including wind, hydro, and solar), as well as digital and telecoms towers, alongside medium-to-large enterprises operating across the African continent.

The candidate will gain deep insight into the fund manager’s operations and collaborate in establishing the ESG and impact strategy, serving as the primary liaison for the fund manager.
To assess, enhance, and optimize the environment and social management systems of the fund manager as needed.
Support the investment teams by conducting thorough ESG due diligence to verify whether prospective investments align with OMAR’s stringent ESG standards, including compliance with UN PRI, the Equator Principles, IFC Performance Standards, IFC EHS and Sector Guidelines, as well as ILO and other applicable frameworks.
Deliver specialized guidance spanning diverse industries and investment categories to adeptly oversee ESG risks while advancing the achievement of meaningful, positive outcomes.
Examine the sustainability dimensions of projects and provide support to specialists in executing initiatives while ensuring adherence to contractual obligations regarding the sustainability criteria of various fund assets.
Assist asset managers by overseeing and guiding asset implementations to meet sustainability commitments, which may involve on-site visits and direct collaboration with management teams.
Preparation of comprehensive investor and sustainability reports, alongside addressing ad-hoc ESG-related queries from investors, shareholders, and clients, is essential.
Sustainability data management and analysis are employed to extract actionable insights from this data for both internal stakeholders and external clients.
