The Company Procurement Manager spearheads the strategic design and implementation of centralized procurement initiatives for Raeburn Schools Limited, covering both domestic and international sourcing. This position guarantees cost efficiency, maintains high standards of quality, and ensures regulatory compliance, while overseeing company-wide procurement operations and establishing guidelines for procurement policies and procedures at the individual school level.

The manager will develop and maintain robust partnerships with domestic and global suppliers, oversee the coordination of import logistics, and uphold ethical standards and transparency throughout the organization.

This role encompasses a broad spectrum of critical tasks essential to the operational success of the department. Devising and executing strategic sourcing initiatives to achieve optimal cost efficiency, superior quality standards, and reliable delivery timelines for enterprise-wide procurement, while evaluating both domestic and global market opportunities.

Negotiate and oversee contracts with major suppliers—whether local or international—to secure advantageous terms and conditions.

Oversee all company-level import logistics activities, encompassing shipping coordination, customs clearance facilitation, and timely delivery to specified destinations, while cultivating and maintaining robust relationships with local suppliers.

Ensure full adherence of all company-wide procurement operations to Kenyan regulatory requirements, applicable international trade legislation, and established ethical guidelines.

Oversee local purchasing operations to foster local economic growth whenever feasible.

You will be responsible for overseeing school-level procurement activities to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures. This role involves monitoring purchasing processes, verifying documentation accuracy, and ensuring timely acquisition of goods and services. Supplier Relationship Management (Local and International): You will be responsible for cultivating and maintaining strong partnerships with both domestic and global suppliers to ensure a reliable and cost-effective supply chain. This role involves negotiating contracts, evaluating supplier performance, and identifying opportunities for improvement or cost savings. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including procurement, logistics, and finance, to align supplier strategies with organizational goals. Strong communication skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment are essential. Experience in supplier management, procurement, or related fields is required, along with proficiency in relevant tools and systems.

Identify, evaluate, and manage relationships with key local and international suppliers for company-level procurement.

Risk Management and Compliance (Local and International): Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies across all jurisdictions by identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks while maintaining compliance with both domestic and global standards. Develop and implement robust frameworks to monitor compliance, conduct regular audits, and address any deviations promptly. Oversee international operations to guarantee alignment with cross-border regulations, such as GDPR, AML, and other relevant frameworks, while fostering a culture of accountability and ethical conduct throughout the organization.

Identify potential risks in domestic and global procurement processes, such as supply chain interruptions, quality inconsistencies, and evolving regulatory requirements, and implement strategies to mitigate these challenges.

Ensure adherence to Kenyan regulatory frameworks, international trade statutes, and ethical procurement norms at the corporate level.

Ensure that educational institutions adhere to established procurement policies and procedures set forth by the company, maintaining strict compliance throughout all operations.

Cross-functional collaboration involves actively engaging with various teams and departments to achieve shared objectives. This role requires strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively across diverse groups to drive projects forward. Professionals in this position will frequently coordinate with colleagues from different backgrounds, ensuring alignment on goals and fostering a collaborative work environment.

Partner with Executive Principals, school administrators, department heads, and key stakeholders to identify and address their procurement requirements, whether local or international.

Offer expert counsel and assistance to personnel regarding procurement policies and procedures, with particular emphasis on import-related protocols.

Spearhead collaboration across diverse teams to enhance enterprise-wide procurement functions, prioritizing the optimization of logistics processes and cultivating robust relationships with local partners.

To remain current with emerging trends and innovations in the educational materials sector, prioritize the identification of reputable local and global suppliers.

Source and procure high-quality educational materials from both local and international suppliers to meet the company’s procurement needs efficiently and strategically.
