Job Summary:
The Partnerships Associate will assist in overseeing Chance Kenya’s portfolio of partner educational institutions, ensuring the effectiveness and long-term viability of our ISA investments. Collaborate closely with the Partnership Manager to cultivate and sustain robust, enduring partnerships, proactively addressing partner needs and uncovering fresh growth opportunities.
Collaborate in creating, finalizing, and overseeing partnership agreements and contracts to ensure compliance and mutual benefit.
Play an integral role in assessing current partnerships regularly, verifying their alignment with Chance’s vision and strategic goals.
Craft comprehensive engagement strategies for each PEI, detailing monthly and quarterly interactions, performance evaluations, and corrective measures.
Monitor and verify compliance with partnership agreements, confirming that Program Execution Initiatives (PEI’s) adhere to Service Level Agreements (SLAs), meet reporting deadlines, and fulfill system usage requirements.

This role involves analyzing complex datasets, generating actionable reports, and collaborating with stakeholders to align business strategies with operational goals. Oversee the maintenance and updates of the partner dashboard and tracker to guarantee uninterrupted accuracy and adherence to established monthly reporting standards.
Leverage data-driven insights to uncover emerging trends, pinpoint opportunities for enhancing processes, and foster collaborative growth opportunities within the department.
Compile concise, structured, and results-driven reports that detail the partnership pipeline, progress toward established targets, and critical performance indicators for internal stakeholders.
Offer continuous assistance to PEI staff regarding system operation, issue escalation, and software updates.
Oversee the annual audit process for all designated PEI’s, guaranteeing strict adherence to partnership agreements, reporting obligations, and payment schedules.
We provide support in portfolio management and the disbursement of funds, ensuring accurate and timely financial transactions. Responsibilities include overseeing fund allocation, maintaining financial records, and verifying compliance with established policies. Candidates must possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in financial software. Experience in financial services or portfolio management is highly desirable.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Finance, SAM, Communications & Community, Repayments, and Data, to ensure the prompt and precise distribution of funds to partners.
Verify that all cohorts within the PEI meet the commitment fee requirements and have commenced their sessions prior to processing any disbursements to the PEI.
Requirements
Candidates must possess a minimum of three years of relevant work experience, along with a bachelor’s degree in a related field. Proficiency in industry-specific software and tools is essential, and familiarity with project management methodologies is highly desirable. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are required to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate a proven ability to meet deadlines while maintaining high standards of accuracy and attention to detail.
A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Social Sciences, Project Management, International Development, Marketing, or a closely related discipline is required.
With a minimum of two to three years of demonstrated expertise in partnerships, business development, data analysis, or project management, candidates holding experience in the education sector, financial services, or impact investing will be particularly well-positioned.
Proven capacity for sharp analytical thinking and effective problem resolution, adept at addressing operational challenges spanning from routine to moderately intricate scenarios.
Proven capability to cultivate strong interpersonal connections and communicate effectively, enabling the establishment of trust and collaboration across a wide range of stakeholders. Adept at conveying complex information with clarity in both written correspondence and oral presentations.
Demonstrates exceptional proficiency in utilizing advanced features of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
