Quality Manager

Own the quality function in the Nairobi factory to ensure that the highest quality products are manufactured and conform to set quality standards. The successful candidate will ensure quality planning, quality assurance, quality training, and coordination of the quality improvement process. They will also foster the alignment of quality activities and facilitate the implementation of quality systems and Standard Operating Procedures across the factory and End Markets.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Monitor manufacturing departments by providing an audit and problem-solving service to ensure   that the product quality conforms to BAT global standards as well as IWS Quality Pillar framework.
Coordinate the adoption of the Product Integrity & Traceability Roadmap across the organisation and undertake regular audits to eliminate high risk activities and find opportunities for improvement.                          
Completion of incoming material control and testing of alternative/ substitute materials in the relevant production departments to ensure the availability of high standard materials.
Liaise with suppliers in order to improve supplier quality performance and to ensure the effective management of rejected materials and materials complains Completion of incoming material control and testing of alternative/ substitute materials in the relevant production departments to ensure the availability of high standard materials.
Responsible for ensuring that all quality assurance analysis is carried out according to set methods to ensure compliance with BAT standards.
Ensure that an investigation and corrective actions are tackled all customer and consumer complaints and that feedback is provided to the relevant party.
Ensure all assets in the Quality &Product Assurance department.
Assist in Compiling and handling the budget, as well as analyse deviations as expenditure is in line with the company’s business plan.
Lead HR practices (e.g. performance evaluations, – feedback, disciplinary maintenance, appointments, promotions, transfers, training and development etc.) according to prescribed policies and procedures to ensure sound employee relations.
Handle EHS activities according to  improve a safe working environment.        
Handle and complete relevant administrative activities in the department, continuous flow of information and quality third parties/collaborators.

What are we looking for?

Minimum of 7 years Quality Management experience in a FMCG environment.
BSC in Chemical engineering, Industrial chemistry or related fields
Experience in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, ISO Standards and Data Analysis
