Job Summary:

This role offers an exceptional opportunity to engage a highly skilled Senior Finance Manager. Reporting to the Finance Controller, the selected candidate will deliver comprehensive leadership, strategic vision, and operational oversight for the finance department. Additionally, the position involves supervising the accounting team.

Performs a variety of duties encompassing the oversight and coordination of daily operations, ensuring adherence to established policies and procedures while maintaining high standards of efficiency and accountability. Facilitates seamless workflow by delegating tasks, monitoring progress, and providing guidance to team members to achieve organizational objectives. Collaborates with cross-functional departments to align efforts, resolve operational challenges, and enhance productivity. Prepares and submits comprehensive reports to management, summarizing performance metrics, key findings, and actionable recommendations for continuous improvement. Maintains meticulous documentation of all activities, transactions, and communications to support audit trails and compliance requirements.

Oversee the accounting functions encompassing Billing, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, and Counsel, along with Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition for the Group company.

Craft accurate monthly financial statements and ensure their timely publication.

Prepare regulatory reports in accordance with applicable guidelines and deadlines, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established standards throughout the reporting process.

Investigate complex accounting matters to ensure adherence with regulatory standards.

Facilitate the month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.

Oversee the integrity and accuracy of financial transactions and reporting maintaining stringent quality control standards.

Develop and implement tax strategies to mitigate potential tax risks while optimizing tax planning initiatives.

Oversee adherence to all applicable local, state, and federal regulatory reporting obligations and tax submission deadlines.

To establish and formalize business processes and accounting policies, ensuring robust and effective internal controls are maintained and enhanced.

Additional controller responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Demonstrated expertise in the specified field, supported by a robust combination of educational background, hands-on practice, and relevant professional experience. Proficiency in key technical or operational competencies, alongside strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities. Familiarity with industry standards, tools, and methodologies, as well as a commitment to continuous learning and adaptability in dynamic work environments. Prior experience in similar roles or projects, with a track record of delivering measurable results and contributing to team or organizational success.

ARCA or CPA certification is a mandatory requirement for this role.

With a minimum of ten years of cumulative experience in accounting, finance, or audit, you are sought after for this role.

Professional experience with a Big Four accounting firm—specifically PwC, Deloitte, EY, or BDO—is a mandatory prerequisite for this role.

Demonstrates a strong understanding of tax law and accounting standards, with proficiency in applying relevant regulations and principles.

A proven track record in managing KRA tax audits and a demonstrated ability to maintain strong relationships with the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) are essential requirements for this role.

Advanced degree in accounting
