Job Summary:

As a vital member of the KENPHIA Leadership team, the Operations Director is pivotal in overseeing and enhancing the operational aspects of the KENPHIA II Project by providing strategic guidance, policy implementation, and resource management. The incumbent will contribute to achieving project goals through their expertise in operations management and commitment to fostering collaboration and efficiency.

Essential Responsibilities:

Strategic oversight: Align operational activities with project goals while considering logistics requirements.
Implementation of policies and procedures: Ensure compliance with standards and regulations through effective policies and procedures, including logistics guidelines.
Efficient resource management: Oversee procurement, logistics, and finance functions as well as IT functions (in collaboration with the Data Systems and HI Advisor) to optimize resource allocation.
Leadership in developing and executing operational strategies: Craft and implement strategies that account for logistics and contribute to project success.
Cultivation of a collaborative and proactive team culture: Foster growth and excellence within a collaborative environment, considering logistics as a key factor.
Team management: Enhance team performance by nurturing role understanding, career development, and performance improvements, including logistics-related roles.
Oversight of security compliance: Ensure adherence to security protocols, incorporating logistics considerations for safe operations.
Cross-departmental collaboration: Facilitate synergy and communication between departments, integrating logistics efforts for streamlined operations.
Budget monitoring and prompt resolution of discrepancies: Monitor budgets closely, including logistics expenses, and address discrepancies promptly.
Coordination with Ciheb Kenya’s management: Collaborate with Ciheb Kenya’s management for audits, strategic guidance, and alignment of logistics efforts.

Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, Pharmacy or a related field.
Five years or more experience in supporting a national survey with multiple stakeholders
In-depth understanding of logistics and supply chain management principles.
Knowledge of ERP systems for business systems  and resource management
Understanding and knowledge of security operations in Kenya. Experience working with the Ministry of Internal Affairs is an added advantage
Capacity to identify operational inefficiencies and develop effective solutions.
Ability to make informed decisions under pressure.
Willingness to stay updated on industry trends and best practices.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English (additional languages are a plus).
