Oversee and manage daily operations to ensure optimal efficiency and productivity, meticulously handling all assigned tasks in alignment with organizational goals. Responsibilities include overseeing the onboarding process for both new and existing clients as part of KYC account initiation. This involves gathering client-specific data, documenting details through the electronic account-opening platform, securing executed documentation from clients, and ensuring adherence to compliance and regulatory standards.

Serve as a liaison, fostering collaboration between the Sales team and Compliance to ensure seamless communication and alignment.

Ensure thorough client due diligence is conducted to verify that all accounts comply with established compliance policies and procedures.

Assist the Compliance Officer in executing daily operational duties to ensure adherence to regulatory standards and internal policies.

Conduct regular evaluations of accounts and track fluctuations in clients’ AML/CFT risk assessments, adjusting scores as required.

Prepare monthly and semi-annual Management Information (MI) reports concerning onboarded customers and submit them to the Head of Compliance.

Review and evaluate the account opening process to verify full compliance with Kenya’s Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing (AML/CFT) regulations, as well as the stipulations set forth by the Capital Markets Authority (CMA).

Perform thorough due diligence to evaluate potential risks associated with each customer, considering multiple risk indicators such as geographic location, nationality, customer-specific risk factors, product type, and delivery method. Assess the customer’s risk profile systematically and obtain all required documentation commensurate with the identified risk level.

Conduct regular evaluations of accounts to assess risk levels.

Ensure all newly opened accounts undergo thorough sanctions and PEP screening, with verification completed promptly, and any positive matches immediately escalated to the MRO.

Ensure strict adherence to the Sanctions program at all times.
