Job Description

The IT & Development Assistant will spearhead ITF’s technological initiatives to enhance the organization’s youth development efforts. This position is responsible for overseeing the organization’s ICT infrastructure, providing technical support to staff, and ensuring ITF stays current with advancements in ICT tailored for nonprofit organizations.

Oversee key duties including managing project timelines, coordinating team efforts, and ensuring deliverables meet established standards. Execute regular progress assessments to identify potential risks and implement corrective actions as needed. Collaborate with stakeholders to align objectives and optimize workflows for maximum efficiency. Maintain comprehensive documentation of processes, decisions, and outcomes to support accountability and future reference. Provide guidance and mentorship to team members to foster professional growth and skill enhancement.

Craft the organization’s publications and digital assets, ensuring alignment with brand guidelines and strategic objectives.

Offer fundamental technical assistance to employees and volunteers through the help desk.

Provide innovative solutions to technical challenges as required.

Perform periodic upkeep and servicing of hardware components to ensure optimal performance and longevity.

System applications must be designed and developed for internal utilization, ensuring optimal functionality and performance.

Oversee the organization’s information systems and communications network to ensure optimal performance and security.

Formulate and lead comprehensive ICT strategies to drive and support organizational expansion initiatives.

Stay abreast of the latest developments in information and communications technology that impact youth development and nonprofit sectors.

Candidate must meet specific qualifications and possess the necessary attributes to excel in the position. A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required, with a minimum of three years of professional experience preferred. Strong analytical skills and proficiency in industry-standard tools are essential. Excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal, are necessary to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a proven track record of problem-solving and project management. Adaptability to evolving priorities and a commitment to continuous learning are also critical. Proficiency in data analysis and reporting is a key requirement for this role.

Applicants must fall within the age range of 18 to 30 years old.

Commitment to at least one year of full-time service is required.

Seeking candidates with a strong educational foundation, we require applicants to hold a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field from an accredited institution. A master’s degree or higher is preferred for advanced roles. Relevant certifications or specialized training may also be advantageous.

A university or college student in at least their second year, enrolled in a program related to Information and Communication Technology (ICT).

ITF Volunteer staff are presented with numerous opportunities, though it is important to note that ITF does not offer any monetary compensation. All ITF staff members serve on a full-time volunteer basis. Volunteers are expected to cover their own essential expenses, including accommodation and transportation to the office. ITF, however, assumes responsibility solely for direct operational costs, such as travel for meetings, field visits, and official duties.
