Job Purpose
The General Manager (GM) will be responsible for establishing, operationalizing, and growing True Gas Limited, a newly formed company whose core business is the sale and distribution of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) for vehicles, machinery, and equipment originally powered by gasoline and diesel.
The role requires strategic leadership, strong operational oversight, regulatory compliance expertise, and commercial acumen to ensure that True Gas Limited is established with robust infrastructure, full statutory compliance, competitive pricing, and sustainable growth.
Key Responsibilities
KRA 1: Starting the True Gas Company
Focuses on establishing the company’s foundation through strategic planning, infrastructure setup, regulatory compliance, and organizational buildout.
Key duties include:
Setting up the company structure, strategy, governance, and launch roadmap.
Overseeing design, construction, installation, and commissioning of LPG infrastructure.
Creating SOPs and ensuring full compliance with regulatory, licensing, environmental, and HSSE requirements.
Recruiting the first teams and developing performance management systems alongside a robust foundational culture.
Overseeing the operations and strategic direction of the True Gas Company represents a key responsibility under Key Result Area 2. This position demands leadership in managing daily business activities, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, and driving sustainable growth initiatives. The role requires a comprehensive understanding of the energy sector, exceptional operational acumen, and the ability to mentor a high-performing team to achieve organizational objectives. Candidates must possess strong problem-solving skills, effective communication abilities, and a track record of successfully navigating complex business challenges within the energy industry.
Manages the day-to-day operational, financial, compliance, and human resources duties essential to maintaining a secure, efficient, and financially successful LPG business.
Duties encompass performing a range of tasks including leading project planning sessions, coordinating team activities to meet deadlines, conducting thorough reviews of project deliverables, and ensuring compliance with established standards and procedures. Additionally, the role involves managing stakeholder communications to maintain transparency and alignment with organizational goals, as well as identifying and mitigating potential risks to project success. Proficiency in relevant software tools and methodologies is required to efficiently execute responsibilities, alongside strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address challenges proactively.
Overseeing day-to-day operational performance, ensuring efficiency, reliability, and cost-effectiveness, in addition to upholding standard operating procedures.
Maintaining ongoing adherence to regulatory standards and safety protocols, this role involves leading HESSE initiatives and managing license renewal processes.
Overseeing financial planning, budget administration, strategic forecasting, procurement processes, ensuring uninterrupted supply chain operations, and achieving fiscal performance targets are essential responsibilities.
Driving team performance through strong leadership, fostering development, and implementing strategic optimizations, all while cultivating an environment rooted in accountability and relentless pursuit of improvement.
KRA 3: Fostering the Growth and Expansion of True Gas Company
Dedicated to driving market expansion, commercial growth, brand development, and strategic positioning initiatives to accelerate business scalability.
Key responsibilities encompass overseeing project timelines, ensuring adherence to budget constraints, and coordinating cross-functional teams to achieve organizational objectives. Additional tasks involve conducting market research, analyzing performance metrics, and implementing data-driven strategies to enhance operational efficiency. The role demands meticulous attention to detail, strong problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to prioritize competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Collaboration with stakeholders, preparation of comprehensive reports, and maintaining compliance with industry regulations are also essential components of this position.

Qualifications and Experience Requirements
Academic Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Energy Management, or a closely related discipline is required.
A Master’s degree or relevant professional qualification is advantageous.
Experience
Minimum 8 years’ experience in LPG, petroleum, energy, or fuel distribution industries.
Proven experience in setting up or managing energy/fuel-based operations.
Strong background in regulatory compliance, operations management, and infrastructure development.
