Position Summary

The Field Merchandising Representative (FMR) will report directly to the Team Leader – Merchandising and perform a range of merchandising duties, including executing in-store merchandising tasks, maintaining optimal shelf visibility, and ensuring product availability at assigned retail locations. Additionally, the FMR will support returns governance processes and collect market intelligence to inform strategic decisions. Serving as the primary operational contact for the company within the retail environment, the FMR plays a critical role in upholding brand standards and driving sales performance.

Maintain accurate merchandising and presentation standards for products within designated retail locations.

Ensure compliance with established shelf visibility and execution standards as agreed upon.

Maintain the cleanliness, proper facing, visibility, and accurate positioning of all products.

Ensure that point-of-sale systems and promotional materials are correctly positioned and consistently maintained.

Track competitors’ promotional strategies, pricing adjustments, and inventory placement strategies across retail environments.

Responsible for overseeing stock management and ensuring proper rotation practices, maintaining accurate inventory records, and monitoring stock levels to prevent overstocking or shortages. Tracks expiration dates to ensure compliance with safety regulations and minimizes waste through timely utilization of products. Collaborates with procurement and warehouse teams to coordinate replenishment, optimize stock levels, and streamline distribution processes. Analyzes inventory turnover rates to identify trends, adjust procurement strategies, and support data-driven decision-making for efficient resource allocation.

Ensure stock levels are consistently tracked, and immediately escalate any instances where inventory falls below predefined thresholds.

Maintain rigorous adherence to FIFO (First-In-First-Out) stock rotation protocols.

Monitor stock with approaching expiration dates and promptly initiate escalation procedures.

Remove any stock that is damaged or past its expiration date from the shelves, adhering strictly to the established company protocols.

Analyze historical and predictive movement trends to strategically manage outlet stock levels, ensuring optimal inventory availability while minimizing excess holdings.

Manages the oversight and administration of returns processes while ensuring adherence to established governance frameworks.

Ensure that all outlet returns are meticulously verified and documented with precision.

Ensure that Goods Return Notes (GRNs) are accurately prepared, accompanied by all necessary supporting documentation.

Ensure all returns undergo thorough physical inspection prior to collection.

Promptly report any returns that appear suspicious or lack a clear explanation without delay.

Facilitate the reconciliation and accountability procedures inherent to returns management operations.

Document all on-site merchandising tasks using standardized systems and approved reporting tools.

Prepare and deliver accurate merchandising, stock, attendance, and market intelligence reports in a timely manner.

Conduct field audits, verification exercises, and operational investigations as needed to ensure compliance and operational integrity.

Ensure adherence to organizational operational policies, hygiene protocols, and product handling guidelines at all times.

Seeking candidates with a minimum of three years of relevant experience in the field, complemented by a degree in a related discipline such as engineering, business administration, or computer science. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential, along with proficiency in industry-standard software tools. The ideal applicant will demonstrate a track record of successful project delivery and possess excellent communication abilities to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Familiarity with regulatory compliance and quality assurance standards is also required.

Minimum GCSE Certificate or its equivalent qualification is required.

A degree, diploma, or certification in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related discipline would be considered beneficial.

Seek candidates with a minimum of one to two years’ hands-on experience in merchandising, fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sales support, retail operations, or field execution roles.
