Job Summary:
Reporting to the Technical Coordinator, the Technical Specilist will support one county and oversee one team comprising three COVID-19 Vaccination Technical Officers within three counties to ensure optimal COVID-19 vaccination uptake and increased coverage by at least 9% per month. This role will support the Technical Assistance to Ready and Accelerate Capacities of Public Health Programs in Kenya (TRACK) program in achieving its deliverables within the specified counties.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Participate in the target setting for COVID-19 vaccine rollout in the counties assigend.
Ensure optimal coordination of COVID-19 vaccination at the county, sub-county, and facility level for an increased vaccination coverage of 9% per month amongst the target population.
Provide facility level mentorship within the health facilities to effect a 70% increase in COVID-19 vaccination level by embracing a health systems approach to enhancing vaccine uptake.
Identify missed opportunities for COVID-19 vaccination and design strategies to address these.
In liaison with the county vaccines coordinator, ensure COVID-19 vaccines commodity management is optimal by ensuring COVID-19 vaccines are collected at the respective regional stores and distributed to the sub-counties and to health facilities on time.
Coordinate COVID-19 vaccination outreaches monthly working with CHMT, EPI and xxxx
Ensure that 100% and timely reporting of COVID-19 vaccinated individuals on MoH Chanjo.
Support advocacy, communication, and social mobilization activities within the county for optimal COVID-19 vaccination uptake, including coordination of stakeholders’ meetings and community dialogue forums.
Liase with the county health management teams in assigned counties to, plan for and conduct performance review meetings monthly to assess the county performance against set targets.
Administratively, this position will verify all activity reimbursements before payment
Represent Ciheb-Kenya in a professional manner, which creates a positive image and enhances the organization’s credibility.
Perform any other duties as requested.
Skills and Experience:
Education: Degree in Nursing, Clinical Services, Public Health, or any health-related degree.
Experience: At least three years of experience working with the county governments in a coordination role.
Experience providing technical assistance on immunization at the national or county level will be an added advantage. Experience working in a donor-funded program.
Travel: Ability and willingness to travel within specified counties in Kenya.

Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks concurrently, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment, with attention to detail and quality, is required
Experience working with in-country EPI or county system and a strong understanding of immunization programmatic, operational, and field realities are preferred
Self-motivated, strategic, and creative problem-solver who can respond quickly to evolving priorities
Demonstrated ability to analyze, assess, and organize information and effectively communicate to a diverse audience
Excellent organization and communication skills
Ability to be highly productive with minimum oversight and while working independently
