The Activation Officer drives Ave news’ training and education initiatives forward by executing high-impact activations, delivering training sessions, and conducting on-ground pitches. This position is tasked with enhancing the scope, effectiveness, and excellence of all field operations, encompassing partner engagements, product demonstrations, industry expos, conferences, and localized marketing events. A dynamic role demanding extensive travel, this position requires polished presentation and communication abilities, as well as the capacity to manage and prioritize multiple initiatives concurrently. The preferred candidate exhibits high energy, meticulous organization, strong public speaking skills, and a natural ease with field-based responsibilities.

Oversee and implement a wide range of administrative and operational duties to ensure seamless departmental functioning, including coordinating schedules, managing communications, and maintaining records. Lead and support cross-functional teams in executing projects, tracking progress, and achieving established objectives. Prepare and deliver reports, presentations, and strategic documentation to senior leadership, ensuring accuracy and clarity. Oversee event logistics by managing venue setup, procuring necessary materials and equipment, and coordinating participant mobilization.

Develop and oversee an activity calendar to organize and sequence field engagements, training sessions, and community events seamlessly.

Responsibilities include conducting training sessions and delivering on-ground pitches and educational presentations.

Conduct informative and captivating training sessions for arises, partners, groups, communities, and networks.

Present solutions from Ave news directly to prospective clients and collaborators through engaging, on-site presentations to effectively communicate product value and drive adoption.

Deliver targeted training sessions, customized educational programs, and specialized events and engagements to effectively penetrate and capitalize on new value chains.

Develop and customize training materials to align with the varying comprehension levels, specific requirements, and operational environments of diverse audiences.

Must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field. Three or more years of professional experience in software development, preferably in a leadership or mentoring role. Proficiency in programming languages like Java, Python, or C++. Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Excellent communication skills for both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Familiarity with Agile methodologies and version control systems (e.g., Git).

Seeking candidates with 2 to 4 years of hands-on experience in field activations, training initiatives, community engagement, product demonstrations, or sales support roles, ideally within the agriculture, fintech, or FMCG sectors.

Demonstrated proficiency in delivering engaging presentations and leading dynamic group discussions with confidence and clarity.

Seasoned in executing on-site activations, events, or community engagement initiatives. Skilled in overseeing logistical operations, assembling and leading cross-functional teams, and overseeing diverse field-based activities simultaneously.

Able to undertake significant travel and fieldwork with ease and adaptability.

Fluency in both English and Swahili is essential, with proficiency in additional local languages considered a plus.
