    Job description

    Write regular position papers and other communication for a public audience, that helps promote NRC’s advocacy and other strategic objectives.
    Coordinate systematic recording and editing of human-interest stories and photographs for use in communication and internal/external donor reporting.
    Coordinate NRC Kenya’s input into NRC public reports, such as the annual report.
    Responsible for improving internal communications, by managing NRC Kenya’s presence on the organization’s internal information-sharing platform, Workplace.
    Establish social media platforms for the Kenya Country Programme.
    Regularly update the fundraising strategy under the direction of the Country Director.
    Regularly update the work plan related to the advocacy objectives of the Kenya Country Strategy.
    Develop terms of reference for consultants undertaking research.
    Coordinate the agenda for strategic planning meetings.
    Any ad hoc tasks relating to communication and research as required by the Country Director.

    Qualifications

    Graduate in Communications, Journalism or Public relations.
    Some experience in media, communication, advocacy or related field in the humanitarian context, including photography and video skills is an advantage.
    Ability to produce excellent written English across a range of communication products.
    Relevant skills managing social media platforms.
    High attention to detail and accuracy
    Ability to multi-task and work with short deadlines
    Internship experience with other humanitarian agencies a plus

Education Specialist

    Grants Coordinator Education Specialist

    The Grants Coordinator will to provide essential grant management support to HoP in delivering quality programmes in line with the NRC COs strategy and PoA for Kenya and for Tanzania.
    Grants Coordinator reports to the Head of Programmes
    Roles

    Adherence to NRC policies, guidance and procedures
    Develop and maintain overview of all grants, donor requirements, rules and regulations, and internal and external deadlines, including filing of grant documents (including through the grants database – forthcoming)
    Coordinate the development of donor applications and reports, as well as ensuring donor compliance and quality control
    Contribute to the development and revision of funding proposals, budgets and donor reports
    Be updated on donor priorities and track and share relevant calls for proposals
    Document, analyze, and share learning from proposal and reporting process, and compliance with donor rules and regulations
    Contribute to continuously improving internal grant management systems including information management systems and M&E
    Provide an internal help-desk on donor related issues, including organize and deliver trainings in donor rules and regulations, as well as proposal and report writing
    Coordinate the development and distribution of internal reports
    Contribute to PCM trainings and usage of the NRC PCM frame work in the CO as delegated by the Head of Programme
    Support external donor audits
    Represent with relevant partners and donors as delegated
    Ensure key controls and tools are in place and maintained daily to support effective management of the funding portfolio and compliance with donor requirements.
    Ensure copies of donor concept notes, proposals, contracts and reports are correctly filed on NRC’s filing system and also kept in hard copy.
    Work with CC Specialists to support implementing partners with reviewing of budgets, expenditure, donor rules and regulations, and implementation progress through grant opening, grant review and grant closing meetings with implementing partners, following NRC Kenya’s PCM guidelines

    Job Qualifications

    5 years of relevant experience within field of expertise in refugees and IDPs contexts
    Relevant experience from the project management in the humanitarian sector
    Experience from working with humanitarian and development donors
    Good understanding of donor rules and regulations
    Skills and experience in report and proposal writing
    Strong communication, coordination and interpersonal skills
    Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
    Above average computer skills

    Job description

The purpose of the Procurement Assistant position is to assist in the day to day implementation of the support functions responsibilities.
    Job description

    Adhere to NRC policies, tools, handbooks, guidelines, procedures and donor requirement,
    Register and/or prepare requisitions, quotations and purchase orders and update status reports
    Prepare and file documents as required by line manager
    Prepare periodic procurement status reports and share appropriately
    Liaise with warehouse assistant on the planned delivery of materials meant for warehousing and obtain necessary documentation to facilitate payments to vendors
    Track current procurements and update them bi-weekly as per the Procurement Tracker Sheet (PTS) and forward the PTS to the line manager by 5th of every month
    Prepare RFQ, bid analysis and bid committee meeting minutes
    Liaise with suppliers to ensure prompt and accurate delivery of goods, services and equipment,
    Ensure logistics compliance in procurement matters
    Timely processing of payments to vendors
    Communicate response to vendors on status of their bids
    Document and records management
    Develop a standard list of supplies for Dadaab and establish prices catalogue
    Manage inventory lists
    Assist the Logistics Officer in running the Logistics Unit in Dadaab and provide support to other colleagues during periods of absence (Warehouse, Fleet, etc)

    Qualifications

    Hold a recognized Ordinary/Advanced Diploma in Business Administration/ Purchasing and Supplies Management. A degree in relevant field (Logistics/Procurement/Contracting/Supply) will be an added advantage
    Experience from working with procurement in a humanitarian/recovery context
    Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts
    At least 3 years previous work experience in service in the same functional area preferably with UN or NGO’s
    Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
    Accuracy and keen to details
    Ability to use computer systems in daily performance and possession of a good knowledge of spreadsheets, Word processors and database system is required.
