Logistics and Transportation
"Uber: Moving cities forward with seamless connections."
Uber is transforming global mobility by seamlessly connecting riders with drivers through our innovative app, enhancing urban accessibility while creating new opportunities for both riders and drivers. Since our establishment in 2009, Uber has expanded its services to over 400 cities worldwide, deepening our global footprint and fostering closer connections between people and their cities.
In Kenya, Uber operates a taxi service in Nairobi and Mombasa, offering an affordable and convenient alternative to traditional transportation. By eliminating the need for in-person bookings at physical offices, Uber Kenya allows users to request rides directly through the Uber app on their smartphones. As a subsidiary of Uber Technologies Inc., headquartered in California, USA, Uber Kenya provides reliable transportation solutions across the country.
With operations in more than 60 countries, Uber enables customers to submit trip requests via the Uber app, which then connects them with the nearest available driver. The service does not impose any booking fees, and the app provides a fair estimate at the time of booking. Final pricing is determined by real-time traffic conditions and the total distance traveled.
Payment options for Uber Kenya include Mesa or cash upon arrival at the destination. The exact fare will be clearly displayed to both the rider and the driver before the trip concludes. For Mesa payments, the driver will provide a designated number for the transaction. To use Uber Kenya, customers must first create a valid Uber account, select their pick-up location within the app, choose their preferred payment method, and tap “Request a Trip” to initiate their ride.
