Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JK UAT) is located in Juba, approximately 36 kilometers northeast of Nairobi along the Nairobi-This Highway. Established in 1981 as a Middle-Level College—originally known as Jomo Kenyatta College of Agriculture and Technology (JK CAT)—the institution was founded by the Government of Kenya with significant support from the Japanese Government. Preliminary efforts to establish JK CAT began in 1977.
