"DBK: Redefining financial services in Kenya since 1963."
Since its establishment in 1963, Development Bank of Kenya Ltd (DBK) and its dedicated team have played a pivotal role in reshaping Kenya’s financial services landscape. Initially operating as a non-banking financial institution, the bank’s primary mission was to foster and support commercially viable projects. In 1964, DBK transitioned into financing operations and, for three decades as a Development Financial Institution (DFI), strategically allocated investments across key sectors—including agriculture, manufacturing, construction, communication, and tourism—encompassing all major industries in Kenya.
