British American Tobacco has an exciting opportunity for a Projects Lead to join our team in Nairobi.
Our new colleague will lead the planning and execution of technical projects to ensure overall project management governance, delivery and reporting initiative progress, risks and issues.
Principal Accountabilities:
Lead the planning and execution of technical projects related to new equipment installation or modification of the existing ones to fulfil the requirements of the production departments
Lead the NPI technical readiness to support VSU (Vertical Start-Ups)
Drive initiatives to reduce energy consumption
Support and validate technical capabilities for NPIs introduction
Run Daily Direction Setting (DDS) for Projects.
Lead Commissioning, Qualification and Verification
Reviews outputs from Start Up Lead
Reports initiative progress, risks and issues
Provision of methodology framework, processes, templates, checklists
Executes specific and general engineering / production technical projects related to new equipment installation or modification of the existing ones to fulfil the production requirements by departments
Organize and maintain Technical archive as one technical information center for entire factory.
Supports all Factory departments with engineering up- to-date technical documentation
Context/ Environment:
The role handles critical projects that need to be completed safely, on time, within budget and to high quality Standards.
Budgets and decisions have to be taken in an uncertain environment due to the fact that utilities main suppliers are state companies with a hesitating policy.
Provision of services to multiple sites for both commercial and operations
Working relationship:
Liaison with local and international suppliers/contractors for both materials and machinery
Close liaison with Finance department for budget control and costs
Area Leadership on Facilities and Fleet
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
BSc mechanical or electrical engineering
Proven project management experience of industrial setups.
Mastery in steam, compressed air, vacuum, de-dusting, gas, waste & process water, HVAC, Fire safety systems and production processes and machinery.
